#RestInPower to the legendary actor James Earl Jones, whose iconic voice and unforgettable performances left a lasting mark on the entertainment world. We were proud to honor him multiple times as a NAACP Image Awards winner. His contributions to the arts will forever be celebrated and cherished. Our heartfelt condolences go out to his family, friends, and all who admired his work.
I remember seeing Mr. Jones at Rizzoli Bookstore back in the day when it was located on West 57th Street in Manhattan. He was tall, especially when standing beside me, a larger than life presence with a calm, unassuming demeanor. I sensed that he found the city to be the ideal backdrop for his desired anonymity. Requiescat in pace, James Earl Jones. #legend
🤟🏽💙 Here is why I believe in life after death, it is unfathomable to think a man like this—with his admirable soul and exceptional life, would end his journey here, on earth. There is a place where souls like his enjoy everlasting life. Loved him😥❤️💙S1096TXBLUESTRONG
He came. He saw. He conquered...✊🏾
I have loved him all my life. When I was about 9, my parents took me to see Hamlet in Shakespeare in the Park in NYC. I was asking a million questions about the play and suddenly, the man sitting in front of us turned around and said "I will explain it to the child." He picked me up, sat me in his lap and in a sotto vocce voice, explained all of Hamlet to me and answered all my questions. When the play was over, he handed me back to my hyperventilating parents and said "You have a remarkable child." My mother told this story the rest of her life, about how James Earl Jones enlightened her daughter. I still have a very clear memory of this and of his voice in my ear. Rest in peace, Lion King.
There are some people who leave a great void- he us one of them.
A legend who clearly has an impact on not just the entertainment world but all aspects of life. May he Rest In Power 🙏🏾💯
An iconic voice and an irreplaceable legend. May he rest in peace.
James Earl Jones was the epitome of talent, hard work and grace. One of his first roles was in Dr Strangelove trailblazing and representing with those such as Sidney Poitier when black men were rarely seen on film screens. If your childhood was shaped by him as Lord Vader, Mufasa, King Jaffe Joffer, Terrence Mann, or Admiral Greer you will be sad at his loss but glad to have all the memories and all the performances to watch again. But most of all you will remember the power that can exist in a single voice and what a voice it was. Rest in peace sir. ✨
