Fabulous article! I had no idea she was an abstract artist as well. We live in fantastic times where, as women, we can freely and unapologetically be complex individuals and no longer live in ‘the box’ others tried to place us in. As human beings we are never just one thing; we are these interesting mix of life experiences, desires, loves, dislikes and sooo much more = beautifully uniquely complex 💕 Love her body of work shown in this article and looking forward to following her further.
The multi-hyphenate star took us on a tour of her new exhibition and sat down for a sprawling, enlightening conversation.

"A price in the art market is just a moment in time,” explained Sotheby's when asked what the "right" price of a work is - in this case, in the Dmitry Rybolovlev lawsuit against the big auction house. 🔦 What we’ve learned from the trial (which ended in Sotheby's favour): How does a work significantly increase in price by $77M or +82.8% in just a few years? That is a fascinating question, and through the Rybolovlev VS Sotheby's lawsuit case, more exposés came to light, especially the peculiar case of Amedeo Modigliani's painting 'Nu couché' (translated to English as 'Reclining Nude On a Blue Cushion'). 🧮 The Numbers: 1. Steve Cohen's team sold the painting to Yves Bouvier (Rybolovlev's art dealer) for $93M. 2. Bouvier then sold it to Rybolovlev for $118M (markup of $25M or +26.8% profit!). 3. Three years later, the painting was auctioned by Sotheby’s for $170M (markup of $52M or +44.7% profit!). To determine a "right" price for the work is subjective and depends on various factors such as Modigliani’s demand and market conditions. However, it seems that the price significantly increased during these transactions, with a total increase of $77M or +82.8% from the original purchase by Bouvier. There is a saying, the casino always wins. How can the environment influence behaviour and perception during a jewel heist? PhD researcher Diana Berzina and Associate Professor Donna Yates investigated the jewel heist during TEFAF Maastricht in 2022. 💎 The thieves and their costumes were all over the news, but also the onlookers who didn’t seem to be shocked by what happened in front of their nose were much bespoken. "Art fairs have been specifically designed to influence people. The atmosphere of an art fair is a deeply affective one. The way the crimes that are carried out in this space are affected by the ambience. Yet the same atmosphere also affects the way onlookers experience and interpret these crimes. While outside of the art fair the attire chosen by the thieves and muted reaction to a violent robbery seemed absurd, within the context of art fair both made perfect sense." In her blog on Law Blogs Maastricht, Diana talks us through hers and Donna’s research that gives answers to the question above! 💡 Read the blog here 👉 https://bit.ly/3ItvN82 #MaastrichtUniversity #FacultyofLaw #TEFAFMaastricht

I would like to share with you this graphic design proposal for the exhibition "Between space and surface" of 2021. The exhibition organized by the Accademia di Belle Arti di Venezia, curated by Riccardo Caldura, features the works of: Arthur Duff, Ludovico Bomben, Francesco Candeloro. The visual composition focuses on typography and introduces two other elements useful to the representation of the artistic concept: 1) Light is the main theme of this exhibition, through it works take shape in space and on surfaces. We have chosen to represent materially the ephemeral presence of light with the use of orange color. 2) Using a transparent medium, the poster takes on new identities when interacting with the surrounding space. It can be presented in different ways on different spaces and surfaces. made with my sweetie Laura Serraglio 💖 #graphicdesign #visualdesign #exhibition #exhibitiondesign #visualidentity #catalogue #finearts #venezia #venice

Introducing this project on an Arrernte sacred site (Women’s Site) in the heart of Central Australia (Alice Springs) is a direct insult to the Mparntwe Traditional Custodians. While we acknowledge the perspectives of those who view tourism and commercial interests as beneficial, prioritising these over a site of profound spiritual significance, which has been sacred to the Arrernte people for thousands of years, is deeply troubling. Once again, we are witnessing the disregard of a culturally significant site in favour of external gains, undermining the preservation of an ancestral heritage that has shaped this land for millennia. This issue transcends economic interests; it is about safeguarding the heritage of the world’s oldest living culture for future generations. Is this a new movement by Indigenous interests that places commercial opportunities and gains above our cultural rights as the First Peoples of this nation? Traditional Custodian.

When it comes to acquiring great, original art, there is a common misconception that it must come with a hefty price tag. However, this couldn't be further from the truth. The work shown is by Emmanuel de La Villéon, dated c. 1920 and could be yours for just under £5000. Fine art doesn't have to cost a fortune. There are numerous ways to find and purchase high-quality, original pieces at great prices. One option is to explore local art galleries and art fairs. Additionally, online platforms and marketplaces have made it easier than ever to connect with art lovers, art dealers and galleries directly to discover unique pieces that suit any budget. By seeking out alternative avenues for purchasing fine art, individuals can enjoy the beauty and creativity of original and unique artwork without breaking the bank. https://lnkd.in/e37H4vnw
