Successful drilling companies are built on good equipment and competent personnel. Adequate procedures are also important, but they serve to finalize the shape of the organization. However, there is one mysterious thing to keep in mind: even with good equipment, non-competent personnel can lead to shut downs, malfunctions, and no smooth operation at all. On the other hand, even moderate or fair equipment with good competent personnel can have a greater effect. These qualified people understand how to run the equipment even if it is not running at 100% efficiency. To build a successful drilling company, it is important to take care of your equipment and be selective when choosing your crew. But the most magical factor that covers all deficiencies of equipment or personnel is loyalty. By following a policy that puts everyone in the organization as a success leader, you can build loyalty and ensure the success of your organization. Very interesting interview with Valaris President & CEO.. People have always been at the center of our business, and they continue to be. How our people interface with technology and equipment, as well as the safety systems that our people use, have evolved tremendously, but our fundamental focus on people has not changed. While the drilling business is a capital-intensive business, ultimately this is a service business. We deliver service to customers with capital-intensive assets, but at the end of the day, it’s the people who make the difference. We have to remember that technology is a facilitator for people. Like I said earlier, people are the heart of our operations. We want to use technology to help people do their jobs more efficiently and more safely.

Maybe if you actually drilled you would understand that people get hurt in this industry.” My response “I am happy to talk drilling fundamentals to advanced applications on any rig any where in the world.
