Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Map Of Tiny Perfect Things, Stranger Things, The Dirt, Merry Happy Whatever…Love Hard, etc. Netflix and Amazon continue to hold back their best original titles. They’ve taken a “toe in the water” approach to wider distribution but that’s not enough. Why not charge an additional fee, a new access tier, in partnership with Apple and/or Vudu? If you subscribe to this Platinum tier you have the option of purchasing a selection of “A” titles on digital, through select partners. Content belongs to the people (especially the people willing to pay more for it😬). Rotate your available “A” titles by season. Add specials as new titles hit. Play Disney (… going back to the vault). Create scarcity, mine exclusivity, lean into premium branding. Even with revenue share there’s money on the table.

Start the new year right. Review your subscriptions and cancel the ones you don't use. Look at your credit card statements, your appstore subscriptions, and check Amazon too. If you can call to cancel, call--they might offer a better deal. You have little risk--if you decide you made a mistake and want to come back, there's a good chance that there will be a "special win-back" offer just for you. Don't pay for subscriptions that aren't helping you solve your problems or achieve your goals. I'm a huge fan of subscriptions--but a subscription is a 2 way contract--they should only get recurring payment if you get ongoing value.
