It’s been a while since I gave a work update! I’m so busy promoting the brand I work for that I often forget to showcase what I’ve been up to (a gradual working progress!). Recently, I managed a campaign for National School Meals Week (NSMW) for HCL. This is organised by LACA - The School Food People, the leading body for public sector and private contract caterers. For this campaign, we chose to do the themes “Superhero Lunch meets The Feel-Good British Lunch.” So what was the objective? To boost brand awareness and highlight the importance of school meals to our audience. Here’s how I brought it to life: Creative Campaign Resources: I partnered with an agency and crafted detailed briefs so they could design engaging resources, promoting both our campaign theme and the benefits of healthy school meals which went out to our schools and parents. School Visit Event: I coordinated a visit at Belmont, based in Harrow (which has been picked by the London Mayor, Sadiq Khan for a case study on free school meals). The special guests that attended were the CEO at HCL, John Want and Vicki from Bidfood UK . They did a fab job and joined the pupils for lunch, encouraging them to “become superheroes” by eating their veggies! To make it even more exciting, I came up with the idea for our CEO to reward the pupils with superhero capes- I must say, absolute hit! The kids were beyond thrilled and it brought such energy to the campaign. Content Creation: I filmed and edited a video of the entire event (check it out below!), captured photos which was included in the blog post on our website with highlights from the day. Press Coverage: I secured press coverage with LACA - The School Food People, Public Sector Catering and Harrow Online— helping us reach a wider audience and amplifying our message/core brand values. My next marketing report I’ll be diving into measuring the success of this campaign, pinpoint what worked and what to improve and brainstorm ways to make it even bigger next year. It was a lot of hard work, but the highlight? Receiving an email from the CEO congratulating me on my work! - It truly gives you the courage to continue to excel. Recently awarded the OPAL Platinum Award for enhancing playtimes, Belmont joined forces with us to turn NSMW into an unforgettable experience. From superhero capes and veggie anthems to a delicious British roast, the students powered up with our “Feel Good British Lunch” and transformed into veggie-loving superheroes for the day! 🦸♂️💪 Our CEO, John Want and Vicki Hislop from Bidfood added to the excitement, cheering on the students as they enjoyed every bite and sang along to “I love my veggies!” It’s all part of our mission to make nutritious school meals something kids look forward to every day. 💚🍽️ Since HCL began providing school meals at Belmont, there has been an impressive uptake of free school meals, resulting in more than 90% of the pupils having a meal.
