Hello everyone,
I've been journeying into the vast landscape of AI, delving into ChatGPT for my first-ever book.
Here's the thing, AI is like... well, a galaxy. 🌌
You can opt for the basics, akin to spotting stars from your backyard with binoculars, costing nothing. Or, you might go a bit more advanced, say a humble telescope for star gazing, for a moderate cost. Or, perhaps you are tempted by the Hubble Space Telescope, providing the most exquisite cosmic views, but with a price tag as hefty as a space mission. Way hefty.
My tech-savvy pals throw around names like "DeepMind" and "OpenAI". (Who now?)
This is alien territory for me: thousands for a single-use AI software?
"It's a breakthrough," whispers a Wired magazine piece.
Appreciate it, but that fancy software seems more like a black hole to me... (I can imagine myself fiddling with that software... and thousands just vanishing into the ether...)
And then, there are those nifty, under-the-radar tools, without the glitz and glamour tag, delivering stellar AI applications at a fraction of those big names, and just a tad costlier than going basic.
And then, while scrolling through an AI forum at 3 a.m., it dawns on me that such strata exist in the writing and AI education space.
Most opt for creating basic-level content - to earn as much as they can, as fast as they can.
A handful achieve worldwide acclaim and recognition, earning the prestige tag.
But what's available to most - with few choosing it - is that middle ground, the path of a smaller brand that delivers enduring value, at a fair cost. It's not showy but it's genuine. It resonates with the reader.
Where do you see yourself and your brand on this 'AI-tool-pricing' scale?
A. A basic binocular
B. The Hubble Space Telescope
C. The reliable mid-tier telescope
Although with ChatGPT and other AI tools, path A is simpler to navigate than ever, I'm likely opting for C.
But before that, I need to finalize a few more chapters, edit, and a few more things.
And then...publish.
