The latest declaration by the Government’s Auditor General on the HRD Corp. financial operations is definitely an eye opener. Companies operating in Malaysia dutifully every month contribute their dues by law. Their contribution is for the development of our most critical resource, HUMAN RESOURCE!!! But alas the opposite seems to be the order of the day. We will now have to watch what KESUMA and the Minister will do as the buck stops with the Minister. The revelations by the Auditor General shows the lackadaisical way public funds are managed. And the losers are the Companies who dutifully contribute every month without fail in general and our Malaysian Human Resources in particular

Renee, I’ve always admired Minister Steven Sim when he was an MP. Now that he has joined the cabinet, will he one of those who is willing the “take the bull by the horn” and do the needful. Heads MUST roll because this is funds that was meant to develop our raakyat and individuals have robbed our raakyat!!! Period!!! Now is the time for action!!! Do the right thing or give up your position!!!!

Much better Akmal is for a thorough review of the HRDF and HRDC. Even countries in the Caribbean have such models and they have truly make an impact from the lowest level of employees upwards. Our employees who were once direct labors have even attained degrees with the support of similar bodies like HRDF. Ours have been a perennial problem from the start, take it from as I’ve been there from the start of this scheme

The irony of training providers having to sign an integrity pledge with HRDC is not lost on me🙄

Maybe it's time to review again the role of HRDC of being a fund manager and catalyst of nation skill development instead of being an event management company or competing with the training providers themselves. It appears that the mandate has deviated overtime since its establishment due to the need to earn revenue instead of relying on fund interest gain from the Banks. It's time to reflect and be purposeful to what the industry needs them to be!

Need to separate the function 1 organisation for collection of fund & 1 org for training implementers.

Shameful. I hope the Ministry will take the necessary corrective action and hold people accountable.
