Return to Title IV Changes The Department’s return to Title IV (R2T4) regulations govern how institutions handle the return of unearned Title IV aid already disbursed to a student. The negotiators discussed the new version of the Department's proposed language on R2T4, which included a new requirement that an institution take attendance for all distance education courses except for dissertation research courses. Many negotiators argued against this new language, including the negotiators for proprietary institutions who pointed out that the requirement does not make sense in specific instances such as direct assessment courses and for military students in active service. The Department called for a final vote and the negotiators did not reach consensus. It will be interesting to see how this pans out! 😯 https://lnkd.in/gXNYsUC4

The south (and ROTC programs for commissions) continues to carry the bulk of the weight of the nation with military service Big national work to do- getting other regions to care more about service in the military … for officer training programs—also reevaluate the government military academies to see if costs/investments in their tiny student bodies are showing strong correlation to longitude of service, or creating an officer body out of touch with other citizens Our enlistment programs clearly have big issues, so let’s ensure the quality of officers at all ranks are not the drivers of poor enlistment or retention numbers

Yet, the stark absence of progress in Virginia, particularly in suicide prevention, signals a critical oversight. We must bridge this gap by integrating the lived experiences of our military community into policy-making.
