Where are the primary data center hubs? The hottest real estate markets right now don’t have views of Central Park or beach access. They feature (mostly) massive, unassuming buildings that slurp up more energy than your parents think you waste by leaving lights on. Data center vacancy rates were as low as 3.7% in 2023, even as the supply in primary markets grew by 26% compared to 2022, according to CBRE.

Fascinating to see the Colo rental growth in America. Just a year and half ago before the AI boom, price were at US$80-$130, and now it becomes unbelievably high because of the strong demand and shortages of capacity. In APAC, we have seen similar trends albeit with slower price increases among 14 markets in Asia around 8%-17% in average from last year. Data center demand. 🚀 Data center space continues to outpace supply, and average asking rental rates are soaring close to peak highs. Silicon Valley, Northern Virginia, Chicago, Dallas-Fort Worth, and Phoenix have seen rental rates surge by 20% to 54% over the past eight months.
