Today marks the 13th Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD). The purpose of GAAD is to get everyone talking, thinking and learning about digital access/inclusion and people with different disabilities. We are super proud to be supported by organisations such as HSBC who are going above and beyond with digital accessibility. #Accessibility #DigitalInclusion #GAAD ID: A plain blue background with the white Naidex logo located at the top of the image. Why the Deaf Community Should Be Employed in Security Organizations The inclusion of the deaf community in all sectors, particularly in security organizations, is not just beneficial—it's essential. Here’s why: Unique Perspectives: Deaf individuals bring diverse viewpoints and experiences that can enhance problem-solving and decision-making within security teams. Communication Skills: Proficiency in sign language fosters inclusive communication, ensuring that vital information is accessible to all members of the team and the communities they serve. Community Trust: Employing deaf individuals in security roles helps build trust within the deaf community, encouraging cooperation and engagement in safety initiatives. Enhanced Awareness: Through outreach and education, the deaf community can be powerful advocates against issues like radicalization, organized crime, and substance abuse, promoting safety and awareness. Diversity and Inclusion: A diverse workforce leads to innovative solutions and a more comprehensive approach to security challenges. By embracing the talents and insights of the deaf community in security organizations, we not only promote inclusivity but also enhance the effectiveness of our safety efforts. Let's advocate for these opportunities and create a safer, more equitable society for everyone. #Deaf #Deafinclusivity #Deaf INTERPOL National Crime Agency (NCA) Safaricom PLC #DeafCommunity #InclusionMatters #Accessibility #SignLanguage #DiversityAndInclusion #Empowerment #Advocacy #EqualOpportunities #WorkplaceInclusion #DeafAwareness

Global Accessibility Awareness Day: Enhancing IP Accessibility in India On Global Accessibility Awareness Day, we must recognize the importance of making intellectual property (IP) systems accessible to all, including individuals with disabilities. In India, accessible IP systems, documents, hearings, and platforms are crucial for IP professionals to effectively support and protect the rights of all creators. An inclusive IP landscape ensures that every individual, regardless of their abilities, can fully participate in innovation and creativity. By championing accessibility, we pave the way for a more diverse and dynamic IP environment. #GAAD2024 #Accessibility #IPinIndia #InclusiveInnovation #IntellectualProperty

The European Accessibility Act (“EAA”), Directive (EU) 2019/882, is another very important EU Directive and was implemented into Irish law through the European Union (Accessibility Requirements of Products and Services) Regulations 2023. The countdown is on, as it will apply in Ireland in less than one year’s time, from 28 June 2025. The EAA enhances existing EU sectorial legislation on accessibility and introduces accessibility requirements for many day to day services (banking, COSs 💻 🗜 , e-commerce, media services 📺 ) and products (technological equipment such as smartphones 📲 , TVs, e-books 📓 ...) to be assessable to persons with disabilities. The agencies with oversight are CCPC, CCR, NTA, IAA, CBI, and Coimisiún na Meán, with the support of the National Disability Authority https://lnkd.in/eXeVfabb
