#Optic #nerve sheath diameter is significantly wider on optic nerve ultrasound in patients with new-onset giant cell #arteritis (GCA). This finding is likely due to the presence of optic #perineuritis secondary to a disruption of the blood-optic nerve barrier caused by #arteritic involvement of pial arteries, and correlates with optic nerve sheath enhancement on MRI reported in patients with GCA. 🔗https://lnkd.in/dp99jypa
