Last night, millions tuned in to hear from our presidential candidates, but something crucial was missing: Mental health. Neither Donald J. Trump nor Kamala Harris touched on the mental health crisis gripping America. With rising suicide rates, substance abuse, and a generation struggling with persistent sadness and anxiety, mental health policy should be front and center. 🗣️Here are 3 questions every voter deserves answers to: 1️⃣ How will you improve access to mental health and addiction services? 2️⃣ What are your plans to prevent mental health issues by addressing social drivers like poverty, trauma, and housing instability? 3️⃣ Do you recognize the scope of our mental health crisis, and how will you lead a national response? The mental health of millions can no longer be ignored. It's time debate moderators and voters demand real solutions. Let’s keep asking WHY mental health isn’t on the agenda. If you or someone you know may be considering suicide, contact the 988 Suicide & Crisis Lifeline: call or text 988 or chat 988lifeline.org. For TTY users: Use your preferred relay service or dial 711 then 988. #MentalHealthMatters #PresidentialDebate #MentalHealthCrisis #VoteForChange #MentalHealthPolicy #DebateMentalHealth #MentalHealthForAll #MentalHealthCrisis2024 #VoteForMentalHealth #PrioritizeMentalHealth #MindMatters #HealthEquity #MentalHealthAwareness #EndTheStigma #VotersDeserveAnswers #SpeakUpForMentalHealth #AmericaInCrisis #MentalHealthVote #MentalHealthAdvocacy

It's not the news we wanted to hear, but it's important to share. As of April 2024, the state of Virginia went from 91% of counties being understaffed with mental health professionals to 100%. In other words, not one single county in our state has enough mental health professionals to serve its population. VMAP is committed to continuing to support PCPs across the state who treat patients 21 & under with mental health issues, and we hope you'll join us in spreading the word about our services to those who need it most. #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthSupport #MentalHealthAdvocacy #MentalHealthMatters #MentalHealthProfessionals #MentalHealthCare #YouthMentalHealth #MentalHealthServices #VirginiaMentalHealth #MentalHealthVirginia
