Excuse me O, I don't mean to be rude. But not too long ago. security agencies intercepted truck loads of Lithium (the very same one France was buying for dirt cheap from Niger, until it decided to sell at the market price) around Kwara State. Lithium is a key component in the Electric Car Industry, and yet. the very same Govt who knows what it is used for. and how widely sought it is, made no mention of this mineral in its budget, talk less of make a benchmark for same. All it has waved in our faces is crude oil, when it knows that we have lots of other minerals (Gold, Bitumen, Lithium etc) it receives income from. Is it that the reason our brothers and sisters up-North are being driven from their homes, or is this a case of Politicians deciding that some income sources should be mined for private purposes only? Telling me Naija is broke, when people are mining Lithium and Gold, so tay so tay they even have trucks/vehicles to smuggle out what has been mined is beyond criminal. My take on the copper market in another episode of Copper Bottomed. Copper prices have been falling in real-money terms for 20 years and this has to change in the face of sustained demand growth. The incentive price for new copper production is likely to rise as supply falters due to i) depth of resources ii) grade of resources iii) discovery rate of resources iv) higher interest rates and v) inflation.  Quality shallow exploration projects with good grade, simple metallurgy and infrastructure advantages will trade at a premium. I also discuss the news releases and results published by Benton Resources, Hercules Silver, and Cascadia Minerals. Hercules Silver produces an almost perfect news release and decent results. Reunion Gold Corporation (RGD) (TSXV: RGD; OTCQX: RGDFF) announced today an updated Mineral Resource Estimate at the Kairuni zone on its 100%-owned Oko West Project in Guyana. Highlights: * Contained gold in the Indicated category of the open pit increased by 71.2 % to 4.2 M ounces, while the grade increased by 11.7 % to 2.06 g/t Au * Initial underground Resource of 1.1 M ounces of gold in the Inferred category grading 3.12 g/t Au An open pit at 2.06 g/t Au sounds like a great way to start the week.
