On the one hand, ReCatalyst has been able to develop a new generation of #fuelcell catalyst materials based on mesoporous carbons, the production of which has also been filed as a patent. On the basis of these novel materials, the ionysis team has been able to develop full-format #fuelcells (commercial cell platform with approx. 200 cm² active area), which have for the first time achieved the project performance target of over 2 A/cm² at 0.65 V. First panel of the day of the #CCS workshop at #argusCleanAmmonia conference. Jeff Martin and Tobias Birwe discussed critical #technology developments along the production and supply chain processes. Emphasize the importance of communication and collaboration along the value chain to move the projects along quickly. Besides the traditional focus on CAPEX and OPEX, there is more interest in comparing carbon capture rates and capture efficiency among technologies. Best cost alignment is a specific strategy for each individual project, depending on the feedstock sources, surrounding infrastructure, and business environment. Technology is not the main hurdle, while market demand has been lagging behind. HydrogenPro ASA’s  Danish subsidiary, HydrogenPro ApS, has been awarded a grant from the EU Innovation Fund of €16.5 million for large-scale production of next-generation #electrode technology, enabling the company’s high-pressure #alkaline #electrolysers to produce #hydrogen even more efficiently and and a a lower cost.   This grant is a key component of the financing for the H2-GIGA project and comes in addition to the DKK 35 million awarded in May 2024 by the Export and Investment Fund of Denmark. Combined, these grants represent over 50% of the project’s total investment scope.   A full-scale production line is currently being installed at the R&D centre in #Denmark and is expected to be operational by Q1 2025, with an annual capacity of 350 MW. Leveraging experience from this production line, the H2-GIGA large-scale factory will be designed to deliver an additional 500 MW of capacity, with room for significant scaling to meet growing customer demand.
