Sales feels a lot like March Madness. 🏀 You start the month with a lot of qualified opportunities, like the tournament bracket. Every opportunity feels exciting, like it's going to be the champ! 👑 The job of the seller is to move customers through the sales process (or make it to the next round) as discussions progress and relationships are built. Every so often a deal slips or unfortunately it doesn’t go your way. This is a lot like being eliminated from the tournament. Those are the heartbreakers 💔. Other deals move forward and everyone celebrates, and we move to the next one (or the next team). Only a handful of deals are left – how will the quarter (or tournament) end!? We are in the MADNESS right now, so: •Grab that extra coffee ☕ •Make that follow up call 📱 •Send the (polite) email ✉ •BUT respect the process and the prospect 🤝 Showing appreciation to our customers is one of my favorite things to do! To me it demonstrates perfectly (in a fun way!) what sales is; an emotional decision and/or a solution to a problem, as well as the importance of knowing what value your product/service brings to your potential customers.
