Reaching for the Stars: A #Tribute to #Grit and #Inspiration! 🌟 It is rightly said that the #sky is the limit for those always ready to climb the ladder of #success. Today, we are profoundly inspired by the remarkable journey of Mrs. Sumanlata Sharma, the mother of one of our #champions, Mr. Pankaj Sharma. At the age of 60, she reached an #extraordinary #milestone by being honored with the 'Innovative Woman Entrepreneur Award' from the #CentralGovernment. Her #contributions have been truly transformative. She has created #employment #opportunities for local #women in her village, empowering them to become #financially independent. She has also established a source of income for local #farmers, fostering #economic #growth and #sustainability in her #community. Her recent task of converting wheat into porridge is a standout example of her #achievements. Despite being given a #challenging target of processing 400 tons within 30 days, Mrs. Sharma, along with the local women, completed the task in an astounding 15 days. Not only that, but they also #successfully sold the entire stock to the #Anganwadi system, setting a benchmark for efficiency and #collaboration. All this while balancing her entrepreneurial ventures with her #family #responsibilities, including caring for five buffaloes. Truly, her story exemplifies the art of wearing many hats with grace and #strength. Her #story is more than an #accomplishment; it’s a movement. It’s a call to action for all of us to rise, to push #boundaries, and to create a meaningful impact in our own ways. At her age, to manage her #household while serving the #nation in such an impactful way is nothing short of #extraordinary. 💬 Let’s #celebrate her #spirit and share this story to #inspire others. Together, we can create a ripple of change in our communities! #Inspiration #WomenEmpowerment #Leadership #Resilience #CommunityImpact #Motivation #WomanEntrepreneur #Entrepreneur #Innovation

Being a female entrepreneur in the tech world is a challenging but deeply rewarding journey. It requires resilience, vision, and an unwavering belief in one's mission. For me, the journey with TheMothershp is not just about building a company—it's about creating a legacy inspired by personal loss and a commitment to societal betterment. Losing my brother Isaiah was a turning point in my life, sparking a passion for change that led to the creation of TheMothershp. Our mission is to enhance child welfare systems with advanced technology and data-driven solutions, ensuring no child falls through the cracks. As a woman in the entrepreneurial world, I've faced skepticism and barriers that my male counterparts often don't encounter. Despite these challenges, I've embraced my unique perspective and experiences as my greatest assets. Women bring a different lens to leadership and problem-solving. Our ability to empathize, collaborate, and approach challenges holistically sets us apart. At TheMothershp, these qualities have been instrumental in designing a platform deeply attuned to the needs of the communities we serve. Building TheMothershp has been a labor of love and determination. Isaiah's legacy is the driving force behind TheMothershp. Embracing our unique strengths and turning personal stories into catalysts for change, we stand as proof that with determination and empathy, we can achieve anything. TheMothershp is a testament to the power of female entrepreneurship and the ability to turn personal loss into a force for global good. At #NikoreAssociates, we are proud to partner with Saath Charitable Trust and GAME - Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship to drive women’s economic empowerment through innovative, community-focused programs. On December 7th, our team visited #SAATH’s centers in #Ahmedabad to interact with remarkable women #Nutripreneurs and solo #entrepreneurs who are shaping their communities with their dedication and entrepreneurial spirit. The visit focused on four key initiatives 🔎 ▪️Nutripreneurs Cluster: Women here are part of a program to produce nutritious snacks like puffed millet, receiving skills in #costing, #branding, #marketing, and #sales. These women are being empowered with the tools to sustain and grow their businesses, enhancing their incomes and livelihoods. ▪️Business Gym: Women entrepreneurs in this program are part of a pilot initiative using #BizUp, an online wholesale sourcing platform for ready-made garments. This platform enables them to retail products locally while overcoming mobility challenges, offering a scalable model for economic inclusion. ▪️Training and Skilling Programs: #SAATH and #GAME are equipping women with entrepreneurial skills that include understanding #business models, managing finances, and navigating markets effectively to ensure their ventures thrive sustainably. ▪️Impact Assessment Studies: Discussions also focused on assessing how these models influence women’s #incomes, #mobility, and #decision making, with the goal of scaling proven approaches for broader economic empowerment. These programs, under GAME’s Women Economic Empowerment (WEE) initiative, aim to transform women’s entrepreneurial journeys. From increasing incomes to building agency, they represent a powerful approach to fostering #sustainablegrowth and self-reliance. By engaging deeply with such innovative models, we continue to study and amplify impactful solutions that unlock the potential of women entrepreneurs, making strides toward inclusive economic development. Rekha Devi’s remarkable journey from homemaker to entrepreneur is a powerful example of the impact of collective action. Struggling with financial challenges and household responsibilities, Rekha took a step towards change by joining the Self-Help Group (SHG) under the National Rural Livelihood Mission (NRLM) in 2016. This initial step allowed her to save small amounts monthly, but it was the collective support under the Women Entrepreneur Financial Empowerment Program (WEFEP) by NRLM, GAME, and the local community that truly transformed her life. With guidance from GAME’s district coordinator, Mukesh Kumar, and the unwavering support of BDSP Didi, Rekha navigated the complex process of obtaining a loan, which enabled her to expand her beauty parlour. Through the Mudra scheme, Rekha received a Rs. 1,00,000 loan, allowing her to grow her business and improve her family’s financial situation. This success story highlights how collective action—through partnerships, mentorship, and support systems—can help women like Rekha turn their dreams into reality. WEFEP is designed to empower rural women entrepreneurs with financial linkages and is a testament to our shared commitment to uplifting the lives of women entrepreneurs. Through this collaboration, Rekha’s beauty parlour is not only a source of income but also a space where she empowers other women by offering them employment and training opportunities, helping her community thrive. According to the World Bank, women-owned businesses in India generate an estimated 8 million job opportunities, underscoring their substantial importance. However, the 'burden of failure' as highlighted by Nidhi Gupta during a recent event hosted by Women Economic Empowerment Program (WEE), continues to be the Achilles heel of many, many women entrepreneurs. The anecdote shared by Nidhi echoes one of many barriers that women, especially in lower-income groups, face in their entrepreneurial journey. Recognising the dire need for gender intentional practices and models, WEE is working closely with its various partners, towards empowering women entrepreneurs with the right enablers, specifically to flourish the rapidly evolving digital platform economy. #MondayMotivation #Quotes #GoodQuotes #Inspirational #WomenEmpowerment #Entrepreneurship #Partnership #WomenInBusiness #EmpowerWomen #EconomicEmpowerment #BusinessGrowth #WomenEntrepreneurs #ImpactfulPartnerships #InclusiveGrowth #EmpoweringCommunities #WEEforWomen #WomenEconomicEmpowerment Nidhi Gupta Anirban Gupta Dhriiti - The Courage Within Ravi Venkatesan Madan Padaki Mekin Maheshwari Ketul Acharya Poulomi Pal Vanya Kaushik Samikhsya Nanda Poornima Menon Rashika Chaurasia Aspire For Her HerKey Amazon Bizup Frontier Markets Nikore Associates Airblack Saath Charitable Trust GAME - Global Alliance for Mass Entrepreneurship

Tara Goswami’s story shows how women entrepreneurs can achieve great things when supported by their families, communities, and programs like the Women Entrepreneur Financial Empowerment Program (WEFEP). Tara, from Gunavad village in Madhya Pradesh, is a mother of six and has been tailoring for 15 years. Her husband runs a seasonal band instrument shop, but their income was often not sufficient to meet their needs. Everything changed in 2015 when Tara joined a Self-Help Group (SHG). Through the efforts of WEFEP, Tara obtained a INR 2,00,000 Mudra loan which helped her expand the business by starting a cutlery shop and running a mobile vehicle to sell items in nearby villages. Today, Tara and her husband earn INR 15,000– INR 20,000 per month. They’ve built their own home and created a better future for their family. Her hard work and determination, supported by WEFEP, have not only improved her family’s financial situation but also inspired others in her village. Tara’s story shows how the right support can turn dreams into reality. Let’s continue to empower women entrepreneurs and build a stronger, more inclusive future for all. In our agri-entrepreneur support programs, we tend to look at women from an individual micro-perspective. As if they operate in a gender-neutral vacuum. We often struggle to include gendered contextual factors such as family relations and care responsibilities. This is a missed opportunity because family relations are extremely important in the success or failure of an agri-business in Africa. Stop ignoring the role of family and community. Bring support systems into the frame. Want to know how? 👉 Check out our full Aya report here: https://ow.ly/Hc4h50R8XVR
Learning 4: Bring support systems into the frame Stop ignoring the role of family and community 🤔 In your women’s entrepreneurship support program, do you perceive her family and social relationships as hindrances to her business endeavors, or are these relationships ignored entirely? 💡 Individual women agri-entrepreneurs operate in a variety of social networks that can both help or limit them in attaining their goals. Many women find the support from their spouses and other family members invaluable, helping them balance household responsibilities, finance their businesses, and navigate gender role expectations within their work environments. Other women face expectations from family members to prioritize household duties over their businesses. Highly educated women have been judged for taking up agri-entrepreneurship instead of working in a white-collar job. Whether family and community relationships function as assets or constraints, they are too important to be ignored. What you can do (better)? 🚀 Recognize women entrepreneurs as integral parts of larger social and familial systems. Try to understand the role of her family as assets and constraints to her business. 🚀Based on what you learn, you may decide to involve the husband or family members in the program. For example, organize a peer support session discussing how to leverage the support of the family or invite a married couple successfully running a family business to share how they do this in combination with their private life.
