Nanoramic Laboratories’ Post

Nanoramic Laboratories reposted this

Congratulations to former EIC client Nanoramic Laboratories, one of seven U.S. companies selected by the U.S. Department of Energy to receive a $47.5 million grant (pending negotiations) for construction of a lithium ion battery manufacturing plant in Bridgeport, CT. Nanoramic’s manufacturing plant will bolster domestic clean energy supply chains and is expected to create up to 200 jobs. This is a huge milestone for Nanoramic Laboratories to scale up its patented Neocarbonix® at the Core electrode technology. Nanoramic’s innovative technology, which can eliminate  harmful substances used in conventional lithium ion battery manufacturing, has enabled the company to produce low-cost, high-efficiency rechargeable batteries with a reduced carbon footprint. We are proud of our role in helping set Nanoramic Laboratories up for this success. In the Spring of 2019, a team of 11 students helped support the company’s General Counsel with its Series D equity round, which helped pivot the company toward renewable energy. Nanoramic emerged with funding to expand its business operations, increase its staff and begin bringing their technology away from the lab and into industry. Now, with a strategic investment by GM Ventures, the venture capital arm of General Motors Co. (NYSE: GM), Nanoramic Laboratories is an industry leader in the clean energy technology market.    The EIC is working very hard to support companies like Nanoramic Laboratories, that are developing affordable, sustainable, and accessible solutions to the climate crisis, while providing the next generation of attorneys with sophisticated clinical experience that helps address the complex challenges we face today.
