🔧 At NAPA, we believe consumers and independent auto repair shops should have access to essential tools and information for affordable, quality repairs. But that access is currently in jeopardy. The "Right to Repair" is a movement that ensures consumers can fix and modify their own modern devices, including computers, iPhones, tractors, and personal vehicles. This means having access to the necessary tools, parts, and information to perform these repairs. In the automotive industry, the independent auto care sector plays a crucial role, handling over 70% of post-warranty auto repairs. These independent shops typically offer their services at a 36% lower cost than dealer repairs, making car maintenance more affordable for consumers. Without updating current laws, manufacturers could restrict access to essential repair data and tools, preventing trusted independent repair shops from fixing their customers' cars. This would reduce consumer choices and increase repair costs. The REPAIR Act aims to protect these rights and ensure fair competition and access to quality motor vehicle repair. Supporting the REPAIR Act keeps consumer access to repair shops open, ensures repair tools and information are available, protects vehicle cybersecurity, provides transparency for drivers, and guarantees enforcement now and in the future. Now through August, we encourage you to join us and the Auto Care Association in supporting the Right to Repair by contacting your representatives. We stand with NAPA regarding the Right to Repair. Fleets are dependant on their highly qualified technicians to service their own equipment. Not having the right to repair, restricts our ability to efficiently service our fleet, and customers while placing internal technician jobs at risk. Our highly dedicated and trained technicians are critical to fleet and end to end service.

That's a lie..I know for a fact, the napa auto parts I worked at, the owner bought parts online cheap and put them in a box with a napa sticker. The customer would receive these parts ,put them on and they would fail quickly and they have to do things all over time and lose of money, all because of Napa not giving napa parts but knock off look alike parts. Plus the cheap bustard cut every drivers hours to three days a week, just to use doordash people. The customers hate it. They tell me people show up in there pajamas to delivery. There not covered by napa insurance if they slip and fall in the shop as well. Very unprofessional. They don't pick up returns. Which customers complain about. Now I cant say all Napa stores are like that. I just know the owner of 5 stores, handed down to him from his father. He does that.

As a DIY guy and a former Employee of Napa Canada I agree with this 100%. There is nothing worse than sending people to the dealer for overly inflated priced parts

Without Napa's in the world, customers wouldn't be able to get parts for 10+ year old vehicles. OEM does not look after the customer in the long term like Napa has the ability to.
