Plus, it extends clear protections for military members, often prime targets for scams. 🚫 The CARS Rule prevents dealers from luring buyers with false claims about car costs, financing terms, discounts, and vehicle availability. An interesting topic came up on TT.. Tire weight ratings. It seems many drivers don't know of or weren't educated on what to look for. https://lnkd.in/gn7cwWwV I'm curious, how many know how to identify a tire's weight rating? When a carrier has a blow out does the shop or driver check to insure the tire has a sufficient rating capacity to carry the weight of the load? https://lnkd.in/eSateAGQ New Mexico allows 600 pounds per inch of width, i.e. 10" wide tire can have 6,000 pounds. Two steer tires 10" wide = 12,000 pounds. The tire below has a Load Index of 4,938 pounds per tire, so it can't be used as a steer tire. But could be suitable for a set of duals in a tandem axle truck carrying 34,000 pounds on the eight tires, i.e. 4,398 X 4 = 17,592 or 4,398 X 8 = 35,184. I wouldn't want a tire with a lesser Load Index.. FYI, if a vehicle is empty and the tire is flat? The tire can be removed to avoid an OOS during a roadside inspection. 😉 FYI! Happy Thursday!
