Tell Congress to Support the Right to Repair We continue to collaborate with the Auto Care Association to raise awareness and call for legislation to support the Right to Repair in the Automotive industry. NAPA is running an awareness campaign for the Right to REPAIR Act through August. Why does this matter to you? - Without an update to this law, trusted independent repair shops will be unable to fix their loyal customers' cars, and thus, consumers will have less choice and pay more for their car repairs. - Drivers are unwittingly generating revenue streams for car manufacturers every time they get behind the wheel. The vast amounts of data from driver behavior to GPS location could be sold to third parties, including advertisers, without consent or knowledge.   Status of the Right to REPAIR ACT (H.R. 906): on 11/2/23, the H.R. 906 Repair Act was sent to the House-Energy and Commerce Committee. There has not been any action since it entered the committee. How You Can Help Spread Awareness: -Download the attached flyer to help spread the message -Sign the petition today by scanning the QR code in the flyer and completing the form.   Check out these testimonials from Auto Care owners on why they support the REPAIR ACT: Kathleen Callahan, Xpertech Auto Repair: https://lnkd.in/e4BfQpaP Dwayne Myers, Dynamic Automotive: https://lnkd.in/eZnVh-KU

Right to REPAIR ACT (H.R. 906): on 11/2/23, the H.R. 906 Repair Act was sent to the House-Energy and Commerce Committee. There has not been any action since it entered the committee. ·       Without an update to this law, trusted independent repair shops will be unable to fix their loyal customers' cars, and thus, consumers will have less choice and pay more for their car repairs. ·       Drivers are unwittingly generating revenue streams for car manufacturers every time they get behind the wheel. The vast amounts of data from driver behavior to GPS location could be sold to third parties, including advertisers, without the drivers consent or knowledge. ·       For the automotive repair industry, we believe people should have the ability to maintain and fix their vehicles at the repair facility of their choice, both independent and dealer (including at home), rather than having to rely solely on the car manufacturer.
