It's time to rethink alternatives to plastic. ACS Publications released a peer-reviewed study stating that in "15 of the 16 applications a plastic product incurs fewer greenhouse gas emissions than their alternatives." They also share that over their life cycle, aluminum cans emit twice as many greenhouse gases as plastic bottles. Glass bottles emit three times more. We knew this already from the third-party reviewed study released by the National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR) comparing beverage container systems. We can add this study to other recent reports from: - McKinsey & Company - Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Sheffield - KTH Royal Institute of Technology - University of Twente - University of Cambridge All reach the same conclusion: plastic packaging is better for our environment compared to other materials. #pickpet #recycle #positivelypet

Really, this almost getting embarrassing. Story after story about plastic and….how much better it is for the environment compared glass bottles and aluminum cans. This time it’s ACS Publications with a peer reviewed study stating that in "15 of the 16 applications a plastic product incurs fewer greenhouse gas emissions than their alternatives." They also share that over their life cycle, aluminum cans emit twice as many greenhouse gases as plastic bottles. Glass bottles emit three times more. So we can add this study to other recent reports from: -National Association for PET Container Resources (NAPCOR) -McKinsey & Company -Chemical and Biological Engineering, University of Sheffield/University of Cambridge/KTH Royal Institute of Technology -University of Twente All reach the same conclusion: plastic packaging is better for our environment compared to other materials. https://lnkd.in/egFk5Nq5 #PickPET #RecyclingisReal #ChoosePETBottles #TrustTheScience #Sustainability
