Registered Occupational Therapist for 23+ years serving families of babies birth to 3 years. Attachment-based Sleep Coach. OT for environmental illness from damp buildings.
If all your attention is on fixing your baby’s sleep, you’re missing some of the most powerful tools to make sleep easier. To make matters worse, when efforts to “fix” the problem don’t work, many parents feel defeated and turn to more behavioral strategies that don’t truly align with their parenting. What if, instead of putting all your energy into wake windows, schedules, bedtime routines, and night weaning (all of which may have a place), you asked yourself, “What is it my baby needs from me right now?” Then, I asked a follow-up question: “What’s something I can do to meet that need most easily?” These two questions can change how you approach your baby’s sleep –for the better! To learn more, save your seat for my masterclass on Monday, August 26th. A replay is available for a limited time. https://lnkd.in/gwJSZMsu

The Importance of Sleep for Growing Minds ......................................................................................... Sleep plays a crucial role in a child’s mental and physical development. During sleep, the brain processes and stores new information strengthens memory, and recharges for the next day. This is especially important for growing children as they are constantly learning and absorbing new experiences. Lack of sleep can affect a child’s mood, behavior, and concentration ability. When children are well-rested, they are more likely to be attentive, creative, and emotionally balanced. On the other hand, poor sleep can lead to irritability, lack of focus, and even long-term health issues like weakened immune systems or difficulty in learning. For parents and caregivers, establishing healthy sleep routines is key. Set consistent bedtimes, create a calm and quiet environment, and limit screen time before bed to encourage restful sleep. Routine helps children’s bodies get into a natural rhythm, making it easier for them to fall asleep and wake up feeling refreshed. Additionally, teaching children the importance of sleep from a young age can help them develop good habits that last a lifetime. Encouraging relaxation techniques like reading a book, deep breathing, or listening to soft music before bed can also create a peaceful transition to sleep. Supporting your child’s sleep habits not only helps them succeed academically and socially but also strengthens their overall health. Adequate sleep improves memory, boosts creativity, and ensures they are emotionally and physically prepared to handle challenges. By prioritizing sleep, you’re setting them up for long-term well-being. #AmenCare #KidsSleep #HealthySleepHabits #ChildDevelopment #BetterSleepBetterHealth #GrowingMinds #ParentingTips #SleepAndHealth #SleepForSuccess #KidsMentalHealth #RestfulNights #SleepForKids #ParentingAwareness #EmotionalWellbeing #SleepRoutine
