They've got this tough test with 120 questions, all about problem-solving and using cool techniques in Data Structures and Algorithms (DSA). I've been going at it, and guess what? I've already aced more than 90 questions. Tacto gave me the opportunity to work full stack with cutting edge technology and to solve real pain points in a major German industry. As a startup in its growth phase, there were many engineering opportunities at Tacto. When I interviewed for the company, I realized, this is a place where I can learn by doing. My desire to work full stack and on a product where I can see my work being used the next day was a major driver behind my decision. ✨ What is your background? I am a Bangladeshi from Dhaka. I came to Munich 6 years ago to study. I finished my Master in Informatics from Technical University of Munich 3 Years ago. Since 2018, I worked for companies like Joyn GmbH and Brainlab. I am an engineer at heart. 🎢 What does your average day look like? I start off with reviewing my tickets from the previous day. Then we have our daily in the morning and figure out tasks for the day. As soon as we are done with it, I ping my colleagues to join me for coffee (no exceptions). Usually until midday, I work on finishing 1 task. In the meantime, I also review my colleagues' work. I also have to keep an eye on slack for any bugs/feature requests getting reported by our CS. #AlumniSpotlight: Meet Rino Kitimbo as he shares his story. Stepping into Refactory, I was filled with a mix of excitement and anxiety coming from a Chemical Engineering background. I expected intensive training that would prepare me for the tech world, and my expectations were surpassed. Hands-on projects, a collaborative environment, and expert guidance transformed my learning experience. The transition from student to professional was seamless, thanks to Refactory's comprehensive training. I left with a clear plan and a network of peers and coaches. Securing a position in a dynamic tech company where I could apply my skills became my immediate goal. My first job was at a tech startup as a full-stack developer where I contributed to key projects in VueJS and php Laravel. The learning curve was steep but I swiftly adapted to the company's workflow. Every job has its challenges, and mine was no exception. Tight deadlines and intricate problems were part of the package. Thereafter, through a referral from a close peer Samuel Okwalinga, I landed a remote job at World Merit Org as a front-end engineer where I currently still work. Within my first year, I was part of the team that developed an application to manage projects, events, and challenges aimed at achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals globally. It was a significant milestone considering I have always wanted to make an impact globally through technology. I am also engaged in developing Community Health applications used by communities in Uganda and dashboards using the Community Health Toolkit (CHT) by Medic.org this was under Guild Digital and currently with Sentinel Technologies, Digital Technologies in Uganda. Since my first job, I have steadily progressed in my career, assuming more responsibilities, I decided to specialise in front-end engineering and UI/ UX. Staying connected with the Refactory community has been rewarding. I am passionate about transferring knowledge to others and therefore I have continued to regularly mentor students at Refactory Academy; sharing my experiences and insights. In an ever-evolving tech industry, staying updated is crucial. To maintain relevance, I have pursued certifications like the Meta Front End Developer Specialization among others. In the short term, I aim to deepen my expertise in front-end engineering. In the long term, I aspire to venture into #projectmanagement, leveraging my skills and experiences to drive innovation. Reflecting on my journey, I am grateful for the role Refactory played in shaping my career and personal growth. The skills, experiences, and network I gained have been invaluable. From idea to #release in under 10 mins! One of the universally common attributes of a start up is product churn. We're constantly talking to our customers and learning from them. Every recommendation is meticulously vetted in context of long term and short term business goals and a lot of them make it in as product features. And there's also bugs which have to be addressed as soon as possible. In sum, startups need to release fast. At Hyresynth, an idea can make it into a release in under 10 minutes. A client needed inventory management added to our list of roles. From engineering a prompt for inventory management to the feature being available to select on the frontend it took us less than minutes. Our CI/CD uses #github #actions to power this magic. When i was serving my notice period i was asked by a junior who just joined the IT sector a normal trope "Where are you headed to?" to which I answered SiftHub. I loved the confused look on his face, where he was presuming me to go to some FAANG or some company that had the strength of over 1000 employees. Still confused he asked "startup hain?" i nodded in approval which was followed by a question "even after years of experience you still want to learn?" i chuckled to that. Years of experience in this field has taught me one thing, that the thing which gets you motivated in the field of FrontEnd Engineering is the thrill of getting your contributions being noticed and utilized that solves a problem. During my brief conversation with Manisha Raisinghani during my interview and even after joining she mentioned that we don't want people to come for the "life at SiftHub" rather we want people to invest their time for "the product SiftHub" this truly changed my perspective of perceiving working on a product. The best part is even the HR Apurva Pawar is also aware of what we are building as a product to an extent that she is not just pitching on the candidates in terms of yes we have a requirement for a position. Rather she ensures that our interests aligned and we saw the product and understood the same and came as a motivated individual for the team. I have always wanted to adhere to the saying of "be in the room where you aren't the smartest" that enables me to always ensure my eyes and ears are always open to knowledge. The same thing happened with me working with Ronak Bhandari. Starting from the interview process to working with him he makes sure that we break the problems in pieces that its easy to tackle just like levels of video game. Though i have mentioned only 3 people of the SiftHub team its been a "sift" 2 months for me and needless to say all people here in the team are "Jeevan main phod ke aaye hue log" which sometimes makes me intimidated but i love the thrill of learning from them and growing this product which we call as SiftHub solving the major problems in the sales arena that is faced day in and day out. Also its obvious this message is an update on my growth ladder, as i have joined SiftHub as a Founding Engineer for building SiftHub into solving the problems in sales. Its already been 2 month but i was waiting for the #swag kit for this post to be driven out there in public.
