Always be looking for opportunities to grow, improve, and level up. My experience has taught me that aerospace is at every extreme level of engineering and STEM, space is hard, and even small project budgets are massive in scale, starting in the hundreds of millions and quickly escalating to billions. Where I feel any goal is achievable, if not YOU, then WHO?! But within reasons, it should be understood that it is an out-of-this-world experience and goal. If you want to be larger than life, BE larger than life. My approach to career advancement is deliberate, consistent action: taking small, intentional steps forward that continuously move you closer to your ideal outcome, then meeting it, reevaluating it, and aiming higher—REPEAT - CANI "Constant And Never-ending Improvement". When looking for careers, internships, or jobs, ANY experience is the right experience - just get started. Remove yourself from the volumes of endless applicants; put yourself in front of people with comparable skills and interests; immerse yourself in the task and experience; do amazing work; and let it speak volumes about your goals and intentions. Wow, your customers and supervisors, so letters of recommendation or referral are natural. Keep knocking on those doors until you are too big or valuable to ignore or overlook. This incredible experience allowed me to immerse myself in the world of space exploration and deepen my understanding of the cosmos. From studying the early developments of rocketry and spaceflight to understanding the intricacies of satellite communication and GPS technology, I delved into various aspects of space technology. I explored the history and impact of major space missions, the International Space Station, and the potential of space tourism. My journey included learning about the physics of black holes, the expansion of the universe, and the search for exoplanets. I also examined the latest advancements in space telescopes and the ongoing research on dark matter and dark energy. Furthermore, I gained valuable insights into the economics of space missions, the role of space agencies, and the significance of international cooperation in space exploration. Understanding space policy, space sustainability, and the ethical considerations of space exploration has been incredibly enriching. I didn't get selected in any summer internship program 😞 This summer didn't go as planned—I wasn't selected for any internships. However, I refused to let this define my journey. Instead, i made the most of my time by diving into various enriching experiences and expanding my skill set. 🔬 Workshop at #IITBombay: I had the incredible opportunity to attend a workshop on Smart Air Sensing and Emerging Control Technologies. This experience deepened my understanding of cutting-edge environmental technologies and their applications. 🚀 Mission to Mars Challenge: I earned a certificate from #NASA for successfully participating in the Mission to Mars Challenge. this project honed my problem-solving skills and allowed me to collaborate with a diverse group of innovative minds. 📡 Lidar Disaster Management: I received a certificate from #ISRO for my contributions to Lidar Disaster Managemen. this experience was invaluable in understanding the intricacies of disaster response and the role of advanced technologies. 🌍 WHO Certification: I also obtained a certificate from the World Health Organization (#WHO) as a Joint External Executive Subject Matter Expert. this role provided me with a unique perspective on global health initiatives and the importance of expert collaboration. While I didn't land a summer internship, these experiences have been incredibly fulfilling and have significantly broadened my horizons. They reaffirmed my belief that every challenge is an opportunity for growth. I’m excited to bring these new skills and insights into my future endeavors. As part our (NEMMALURI JYOTHI SAI SAROJA) internship, We explored the fascinating world of near-Earth objects (NEOs) or asteroids that are potentially dangerously close to Earth. For this project, a correlation matrix had to be analyzed in order to determine how different NEO properties related to one another. In the matrix, the correlation coefficient between est_diameter_min and est_diameter_max is 1, which is not surprising since these are just two different estimates of the same property. The correlation coefficient between relative_velocity and miss distance is 0.33, which means there is a weak positive correlation between these two variables. This means that NEOs that are moving faster relative to Earth tend to have larger miss distances. The correlation coefficient between absolute_magnitude and hazardous is -0.37, which means there is a weak negative correlation between these two variables. This means that brighter NEOs (lower absolute magnitude) tend to be less hazardous. #asteroids #space #internship #research #correlation #spaceexploration #datascience #dataanalysis #hazardous

This summer, CoreCollaborative International had the honor of working alongside NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration on their Student Airborne Research Program (#SARPEast), an eight-week summer internship program for undergraduates. Interns were thoughtful and curious about how these interpersonal/intercultural skills could support healthy, sustainable team relationships. These young adults are bringing their whole selves into the research process. Dr. Wiley oriented interns to the BEVI findings and facilitated reflection and discussion about what cohesive, diverse teams need for successful interactions across difference. I’m excited to share that this summer I’ll be interning at Sierra Space as a PhD Research Intern on their Ghost initiative 🚀 While neither Sierra Space nor an internship were originally on my radar for this summer, some great conversations with the leaders of the company piqued my interest. I found that not only are they currently working on several exciting projects that align well with my PhD research, but they are also developing several game-changing technologies that could make a huge impact in the space and defense industry in the coming years 🛰️ Even better, their high-level leadership and recruitment team took the time to schedule chats with me, discuss opportunities for mutually-beneficial work, understand my future plans, and tailor the internship to my needs to help make it feasible. Definitely a green flag for a workplace! My project, Ghost, is a state-of-the-art space delivery system engineered to safely return objects from space to precise locations on Earth. It uses a deployable decelerator (I think of it as an upside-down parachute 🪂 ) to guide its reentry, and the goal is to have it be able to deliver a payload to anywhere on Earth in 90 minutes or less. I’ll gain experience in using CFD on a real-world project and learn from some fantastic aerodynamicists and engineers.
