I'm pleased to announce a new quarter of data for the IPO Pulse Index, Nasdaq's six-month leading indicator for the IPO market. With data ending in Q2, the Nasdaq IPO Pulse Index rose to a nearly 3-year high, signaling a positive outlook for the IPO markets. In fact, we saw more operating company IPOs in Q2 than we have seen since Q4, 2021. According to the new IPO Pulse Index, the six quantitative factors that make up the index showed broad-based gains in June, including strong valuations and returns, and positive investor sentiment. The Fed Funds Rate also remains flat. Combined, these factors suggest that positive IPO momentum will continue through the rest of the year. Interesting data coming out of Nasdaq’s IPO Pulse Index with robust performance across all six quantitative factors indicating a bullish sentiment for the broader IPO markets during second half of the year. But what about the micro-cap IPO world? The first half of 2024 is on par with 2023 in number of deals (38 in 2024 vs 39 in 2023), However, it is behind in total dollars raised ($275M in 2024 vs $441M in 2023), in the average offering price ($4.37 in 2024 vs $5.32 in 2023), and in the median IPO size ($6.5M in 2024 vs $8.1M in 2023). Nasdaq continues to dominate the micro-cap IPO market with 86% of the deals (92% in 2023). Stay tuned for our analysis and view of the micro-cap IPO outlook for the second half of the year, as well as our 1st half of the year detailed micro-cap data being released next week.
