The global AI market is expected to exceed $1 trillion by 2028. We've decided to invite the industry leaders to discuss and address the impact on skills. I am thrilled to announce the launch of our new report “Addressing the new skills in an AI World” by CFTE - Centre for Finance, Technology and Entrepreneurship and the British Chamber of Commerce Singapore (BritCham), following up a roundtable, I had the pleasure to co-chair with Mike Rourke. Because of AI and Gen AI innovations, new players emerged, new activities were created, old roles were transformed or disappeared, and new roles appeared. New skills are therefore required to understand this new world. This report will give you an insight into: 1 -The Current Landscape of AI Skills, including how they are structured and the challenges in bridging the AI skills gap 2- The Role of Stakeholders in AI Education and Adoption, covering the involvement of individuals, private organisations and governments  3- Best Practices for Bridging the AI Skills Gap, both at an organisational and country level 👉 New skillsets are essential. To keep pace with AI advancements, professionals will need to develop new skills in areas like data analysis, machine learning, and human-centered design. We call for an updated Skills Framework. 👉Collaboration is critical. The effective development and implementation of AI requires collaboration between diverse teams with expertise in technology, business, and ethics. 👉The human touch remains vital. While AI automates tasks, human skills like critical thinking, creativity, and problem-solving will continue to be essential for success. 👉 Basic AI Awareness is key to the successful #AIadoption: all employees, regardless of their roles, understand the basics of AI. 👉 Impacts of the skills gap are seen in industries like finance, where it raises concerns about over-reliance on AI, potential job losses, and the necessity to continually adapt and learn new skills 👉 To transform #workforce to align with emerging technologies, the #government's role is to include acknowledging the skills gap, preventing job losses, and fostering a conducive regulatory environment for the advancement of AI The report provides a practical overview of the current state and to understand the potentials and the actionable strategies. AI to create 200,000 jobs in Australia by 2030, says report • A report by the Tech Council of Australia (TCA) predicts that the rise of artificial intelligence (AI) could generate 200,000 new jobs in Australia by 2030. • The AI sector is expected to contribute billions to the economy, with generative AI alone projected to add $115 billion, mainly through productivity gains. • However, there is a potential skills shortage, requiring significant educational and training reforms to meet the demand for skilled AI workers. • The report recommends expanding and diversifying retraining pathways, including vocational education and training (VET) and short-course training, to address worker shortages in AI-related fields. https://lnkd.in/g2msgVSj #AI #GenerativeAI
