India's demand for #deeptech skills is soaring! According to a report by nasscom, the tech sector will need over one million engineers with advanced skills in #AI and other emerging technologies within the next 2-3 years. Moreover, the talent gap is set to increase from 25% to nearly 30% by 2028. This growing demand highlights a pressing challenge in the employability of engineering graduates. To address this, nasscom foundation, with support from HDFC Bank Parivartan, has launched a 3-year initiative to train marginalized youth in BFSI, BPM, and Data Analytics. In the first year, 1,610 participants will be equipped with job-ready skills, with 60% of them being women! We have already kicked off our batches in Delhi NCR, Kolkata, Lucknow, and Bangalore to empower the next generation of tech talent. Together we are not just bridging the skills gap, but also creating a more inclusive, future-ready workforce. “We need more Impact Data” – If you have been in the social sector long enough, you must have certainly heard this. Most of us believe that by getting more data, our ability “prove” impact will miraculously improve. But can data points themselves answer all impact questions? For years, the world of #CSR has been dominated by numbers. How many people benefited? How much was invested? But the truth is, these metrics only tell part of the story. The more fundamental question is: what kind of difference are we making in people’s lives? The real impact is found in the lives changed, the dreams realised, and the communities uplifted. At nasscom foundation, our Impact and Measurement vertical is dedicated to evaluating the effectiveness of our programs for marginalised communities. We employ a comprehensive approach that combines quantitative data with qualitative assessments. In our latest blog, Divyanand Raj, Deputy Director – Impact & Measurement, breaks down this hybrid approach of mixing data with personal stories, allowing us to truly understand the depth of impact. In today’s digital world, it is vital for frontline workers to have the right skills to improve service delivery and stay connected. To make this happen, a dedicated #DigitalLiteracy Training Program was organised for Anganwadi Supervisors and staff in Assam’s #Hailakandi District. The goal? To empower these workers with the tools they need to use digital platforms and government apps effectively. Conducted in partnership with the District Administration, including Child Development Project Officers (CDPOs), the District POSHAN Coordinator, and Block Coordinators, the initiative brought together over 40 participants who were introduced to essential digital tools like the POSHAN Tracker, e-governance platforms, and digital payment systems. This program fostered confidence in using #smartphones, #governmentapps, and even touched on #AI. As a result, workers are now better equipped to communicate, access government services, and support their communities more efficiently. This initiative is a major step towards bridging the digital divide and enhancing service delivery. A follow-up training has been planned for more Anganwadi workers to further build on these skills.
