When speaking to architects, I used to say that we can’t do curves. Now we can. At Zen Haus Group, we’re redefining what’s possible in modern construction, and our upcoming luxury home project in Sydney is a great example. One of the features of this home is its prefabricated curved floor panels - a design element that gained traction in high-end architecture over the past few years. Curved walls and facades bring a unique aesthetic, but they’re often seen as costly and labor-intensive, especially when built on-site. That’s where offsite prefabrication comes in. By fabricating these complex panels in a controlled environment, we not only ensure precision and quality but also drastically reduce construction time and on-site costs. This approach showcases the versatility of Zen Haus Group’s solutions—our prefabrication techniques are adaptable to a variety of design challenges, offering architects and developers the creative freedom to experiment with more complex designs while keeping projects efficient and cost-effective. #Prefabrication #InnovativeConstruction #modernmethodsofconstruction #MMC #CustomHome #ConstructionEfficiency #ArchitecturalDesign #Prefab

The geometric dimensions of the plot and its location along the curve of the road necessitated a rotation of the building. This allowed for better integration of the building into the overall ensemble of the #property. Due to the natural slope of the terrain and the topography, the ground floor was elevated to a height of +1.40 m above street level, while the basement is partially underground and partially at a height of -2.20 m on the street side. What makes Glass Reinforced Concrete the ideal material for ambitious architectural projects? The lightweight and durable nature of GRC makes it perfectly suited for facade cladding. Intricate and textured exteriors can be produced using GRC which demonstrate superior weather resistance for a range of climates. Both functional and aesthetically versatile, architects can bring their unique visions to life in the form of visually appealing structures. Just take a look at AARhus in Aarhus, Denmark. Designed by BIG & Gehl Architects, the vision behind the project was to embody the soul and architectural spirit of the city of Aarhus. The decision was made to shape the building as two A’s – functioning as a new hallmark and as a way of welcoming visitors to the city. By opting for the use of GRC façade panels, the architects were able to maintain their creative vision and explore a range of design choices that may otherwise have not been possible. GRC manufacturers, BB fiberbeton AS were called in to produce the façade elements, utilising a combination of embedded inserts and steel brackets along with recessed holes and plugs to deliver a concealed and easy installation. This methodology resulted in a striking structure that appears monolithic and requires no technical maintenance. Read more about the innovative uses of GRC in architecture in our latest blog: https://lnkd.in/dqzu82Pq #GRC #Architecture #GFRC #GlassReinforcedConcrete #ConstructionInnovation

Our final design for a Pavilion floating on ice. Architectural Form as an Expression of Nature Inspired by the fluid motion of a river beneath ice, the pavilion’s vaulted arches echo the graceful curves of water, blending form and function. Hyperbolic shapes efficiently distribute forces, while dark steel contrasts against the winter landscape, amplifying the sense of movement. Modular Design for Efficiency Crafted from four identical blackened steel sections, the modular design reduces material costs and simplifies construction. Prefabricated components are bolted together for quick assembly, relocation, or reuse—an approach rooted in sustainability. Durable & Environmentally Sensitive Resting on concrete pedestals that minimize impact on the landscape, the pavilion stands resilient in harsh climates. With efficient material use, reusable formwork, and adaptability, this design embodies sustainable construction and circular design principles. #ArchitecturalDesign #SustainableArchitecture #ModularDesign #NatureInspired #PavilionDesign #HyperbolicForm #SteelArchitecture #WinterArchitecture #CircularDesign #Prefabrication #ModernStructures #ArchitectsOfInstagram #DesignInspiration

Situated along the Lawrence Levee Trail and north bank of the Kansas River is the 722 Ash Street residence. This project consists of a 1,500 square foot primary house and a 500 square foot accessory dwelling. Designed and created by architectural students at Studio 804, this project is LEED Platinum Certified to help reduce energy consumption. Sustainability is at the core of Studio 804's mission and was a significant factor when choosing building materials. The whole building's exterior consists of a rainscreen facade cladded with Fundermax's Max Compact Exterior panels, which generated energy savings. Additionally, the woodgrain phenolic panels allowed the house to beautifully blend in with and complement the surrounding nature. "Initially I thought, ‘I don’t know about high pressure laminates’... But once I saw what we could do with it, it worked out beautifully for us.” Learn more about this innovative project at the University of Kansas in our full written case study: https://hubs.la/Q02vNqJd0? #exteriorarchitecture #exteriordesign #panels #sustainabledesign #architecture #architects #architectureanddesign #designers #buildingmaterials #fundermax #createwithfundermax #architect #sustainablematerials #morethanapanel #foryoutocreate
