This is one of the reasons that I’ll never discipline a student for not having equipment. I will always hand out pens, pencils, rulers to students who need them, because you just don’t (always) know what is going on behind closed doors. The same way that there’s always cereal bars/healthy snacks in my bottom desk drawer for the students that haven’t ate. Teaching is more than education, it’s about having empathy, emotions, and more love than you thought possible. #education #pastoralcare #students.
