In 2002 I recorded a track at a friends house in Philadelphia and then re-recorded it in 2019 at a friends studio in Lexington Kentucky. It’s called “Keep the Cypher Complete”. https://lnkd.in/eruXDjtt I don’t get to freestyle rap or get into the studio much these days. Though if I’m driving by myself in the car, you will find me freestyle rapping most of the drive. So when I share this track that I recorded, it is a piece of my heart. It also is a fantastic reflection of who I am as a business leader, a sales leader, and all the other things that I talk about here on LinkedIn. All that I do comes back to Keep the Cypher Complete. Hook on the track goes like this: “There will be a big table will be all can eat given back what you get Keep the Cypher Complete. You can make $1 million in a high-rise, you can rub a dime & a nickel, working day and night.” Keeping the cypher complete is about a bunch of people standing in a circle and freestyle rapping and passing the mic to each other. As you pass that mic, everybody’s meant to bring excellence, lyrical ability, creativeness, and a legitimate rhyme to the cypher. That is how you keep it complete. Sounds a lot like sales doesn’t it. The main things that I learned about keeping it safe for complete was that don’t bring anything whack, don’t bite someone else’s style, do the right thing when you’re rhyming and be an upstanding human before an Emcee That’s how I handed out fliers on the corner of fourth and South Street in Philadelphia and that’s how I make phone calls today, that’s how I lead sales teams to profitability and that’s how I get up every day to do everything that i get to be a part of. In true to hip-hop form, I am the illest freestyle rapper you’re ever gonna hear. Pound for pound in the aspect of I’m not out there freestyle rapping every day, but I can sure hold my own with mostly anybody on the planet. And that same regard when it comes to sales methodology and function relative to my skill set and experience. I am the best. Let’s go!
