From regrets to resolve: A blueprint for living a meaningful life Eight years ago when video vlogs were still gaining traction, I listened to an interview on Marie Forleo’s platform that stayed with me. She was speaking with Bronnie Ware, a former hospice nurse whose memoir, The Top Five Regrets of the Dying, captured profound truths about life and what truly matters. Reflecting on that interview recently, I was reminded of its timeless wisdom. Ware’s insights aren’t just a mirror to examine the past but a guide to shape our future. As I step into 2025, I’ve reframed these lessons with a forward-looking perspective—a commitment to live boldly, purposefully, and joyfully. I share them here as an invitation for you to join me in this journey: 1. I will live a life true to my unique purpose and not shaped by the expectations of others. 2. I will seek balance, prioritising joy and rest over constant striving, knowing that peace is as valuable as progress. 3. I will boldly express my feelings with love and authenticity, allowing vulnerability to deepen my connections. 4. I will nurture and cherish the friendships that bring light, laughter, and love into my life. 5. I will choose happiness daily, grounding myself in God’s grace and finding beauty in every moment. These commitments are a north star—a reminder to live intentionally and with courage. Life is a gift, and we honour it best by embracing it fully.
