Some of the biggest obstacles I faced as a Director or VP of Quality & Compliance weren't directly related to Quality or Compliance at all. Executive communication was always a challenge. I've had roles where I was one of 12 VPs or 15+ Directors. Now, I could sit here and write about how it was everyone else's fault for not understanding Quality and Compliance. But it wasn't their fault. It was mine. Building a clear, concise outline of initiatives and enterprise-wide impact, with DATES, saved the day for myself and my teams countless times. -What we're doing -Why we're doing it -Why we HAVE to do it -Who it impacts -How it impacts them -When it impacts them This simple framework for executive communication prevented a lot of unnecessary headaches and frustration. #quality #compliance #manufacturing #cpgbrands #consulting
Most conflict seems to come down to broken communication. Especially when everyone has a aligned with the same core goals it comes down to clarity!
That’s a concise yet super helpful checkpoints! Thanks for sharing

1yWhat a great reminder Nate Call, CMQ/OE. As someone thriving off of targets and results, I've not always done a great job communicating the What, Why, and the impact of those choices on the business. I'm also seeing huge cultural differences between how I learned executive communication the "German way" and how I am (still) adapting to the "American way" aka the old "Get it done and don't talk to me until you've got results to show and tell" versus "Communicate the plan, the how and why of your choices, and be as expressive and detailed about it as possible". And while this challenges my nature as a minimalist, not only in its literal sense but also when it comes to being wordy in my statements, I very much see the value of transparency and letting people in on how you arrive at your strategies and plans as well as painting the picture that's already complete in your mind, again, for others. No one wants to guess or be kept in the dark on processes especially when they differ from how things have been done in the past. Love your outline of what to cover! I may borrow it 💪
