Love this from Tim. Empower. Inspire. Help someone believe they can take pride in ownership. That they can do it - they can be the best of themselves, and more! Being liked is fine but, as a leader, being trusted and respected for consistency, authenticity, vision, integrity and sound guidance is even better. That means being tapped in. That means making a concerted effort. Not everyone can do everything there is to do, but empowering and inspiring others so the whole can function at maximum levels is where it’s at. Sometimes, that means casting vision (and casting ego aside) then getting out of the way. Leaders have to trust their people and allow them room to grow. And by doing all of the above, they will - almost by default. And they’ll grow to trust and respect you in the process.

Something I’ve learned over the years is, being “liked” doesn’t make you a great leader. What makes a great leader is the respect you gain by encouraging, inspiring, and empowering others to be the best they can be. Show integrity today that might earn someone’s respect tomorrow!
