Work sent me to sunny Palm Springs, CA to assist with the National Indian Education Association’s 55th Annual Conference and Tradeshow! Two things I learned: 1. Native American culture is beautiful and must be preserved. Truly, spending the week immersed in Indigenous culture was such an eye opening experience. I’m so thankful to have been able to assist with an event that brings in over two thousand people from around the country to collaborate on how to advance Native American education. I gained valuable insights into Native American history, values, and customs. A highlight was celebrating with the crowd during the Powwow on the final night of the conference. Experiencing such a gathering in person is truly special, and I highly recommend that anyone who hasn't attended a Powwow do so. 2. I can’t be be in two places at once. A project seperate from the conference needed attention back at the office. While I tried to multitask providing onsite support for the conference and assist with the other project, I finally came to terms that I needed to focus on one thing only. Which of course needed to be the event I had been flown out for. I felt really proud of myself for knowing my limits and grateful that the my team back at the office held it down while I was away. I can’t wait for NIEA’s 2025 conference! See you in Spokane, WA!

The amount of aviation references in season 4 of Emily in Paris had me screaming in excitement! I thought this can't be a coincidence - but maybe it was?! Either way love to see Air France and United Airlines mentioned--so subtle but GREAT EXPOSURE! Just for reference I binge watched both episode drops the nights they premiered, and now I really want to go to Paris, New York, and Rome. Good to know what both airlines offer! 😉

Making the very best of my time spent at Skyview! Today was such an eye opening experience as I got to visit the Intergrated Operations Center (IOC.)This team is the backbone of our entire operation coordinating logistics for various departments! They’re the people who deal with maintenance, flight planning, weather, safety and so many other situations that impact the entire American Airlines operation. I haven’t been able to share because it has all happened so quickly! However, I left my role with Studio 701 to return to my career in aviation. I will cherish the time spent producing the #1 morning show in North Dakota (opinion is my own) and will take the knowledge learned highlighting the 701 with me no matter which role I am in. This move is momentous in so many different ways and I’m ecstatic to be able to re-join the American Airlines family. I’ve been staying at the headquarters campus referred to as Skyview for the last week learning once more about the various situations flight attendants must be prepared to face. I certainly needed a refresher after being away over 3 years! Skyview is so unique and provides the perfect environment to stay engaged!
