How many of you know what Penetration Pricing is? It's nothing new and I'm seeing a lot of it in healthcare right now And not by hospitals.... But by new entrants to the direct-to-employer space Companies that cash-flow growth or "bootstrap" can't do this They need to charge a reasonable rate to make a margin to survive and grow VC /PE backed companies can do this and they are doing it! We've all felt the rug pulled out from underneath us before Remember that time you got that really low premium increase just to see it go up exponentially in the coming years :) Be HIGHLY skeptical of any solution that sells in at a low rate and promises the world to you The goal of VC/PE is to make a TON of money... They have investors and shareholders that they need to make happy and attract more of Oh how so many will come back in the next several years in much worse situations because all they kept trying to do is cost shift!!! If this patient had been able to connect with their PCP, they would have been billed a copay (probably $25-$40) AND had an insurance bill dropped on their plan for $200 - $400 3. "We're going into schools to TEACH students how to be healthy..." It's a prime example of the issue with our system and the perspective of healthcare organizations Instead of recruiting more people to treat illness, what if the focus was placed on preventating disease so we don't need so many people to treat them!?
