With a fantastic #AdobeSummit 2024 in the rearview mirror, a few summary reflections: - GenAI was the central focus and appropriately so. A narrower focus on individual Adobe products; attendees might have found themselves planning around overlapping interests or wanting for deeper dives, The sessions felt more curated - Beyond roadmap views, solid demonstration of increased interoperability and orchestration of Adobe's entire product suite - especially welcome news for Adobe Commerce users - Further support for crucial journeys that happen above and below the digital experience line, introducing orchestrated extensions to Sterling OMS and Zuora Revenue Manager with Subscriptions. - A great job getting in front of topics oft-overlooked in the current GenAI frenzy: - Best-applied, GenAI eliminates cycles, not staff. Leaders free their practitioners from cumbersome (yet necessary) tasks, like asset variant production, and redirect that effort to the kind of inventive and creatively impactful work that they were hired and prefer to do. - *Beginning* GenAI initiatives with upfront governance at the tool, process, and value orchestration level - A key differentiator of Firefly is transparency and explainability of their training imagery (public domain, licensed copyrights) - A “ready, fire, aim” approach can easily leave orgs on the wrong side of legal actions while developing use cases with cloud costs that exceed business value. - Shaq is a waaay more entertaining DJ than I could have imagined. Haters are welcome to fight me on Reddit. - Always excellent - the event coordinators, the AV staff, the ground crews, and everyone who brings our meals, serves the last drink we probably don't need, and who clean up after us. - Something to think on or ignore: Aside from aiding the Lanyard Industrial Complex, the value of getting together is to build business and relationships.
