What do you think about in the shower? The jerks in the world hurt you twice: once when they hurt you and once when you find yourself stewing about it in the shower the next morning. This article really resonated with me. I know the feeling of my valuable shower-thinking time being usurped by the problems in my life. And when I'm thinking about problems, I'm not thinking about the things I really want — and need — to think about. Sometimes I can stave off the thieving thoughts by reminding myself that they don't deserve my attention. It's a kind of forgiveness that gives me relief. Other times the encroaching thoughts tell me there's a deeper decision to be made, like ending a partnership, turning over control of a key responsibility, or letting go of a few of my favorite tasks.
