National Association of Home Builders’ Post

Over the past two weeks, President Biden has raised the issue of rent caps on three separate occasions. NAHB is strongly opposed to rent caps because it is a failed policy that does nothing to fix the root causes of #housingaffordability issues. https://lnkd.in/eJNqg-cF

I belive rent cap is a horrible idea as well. If the owner can’t afford to invest into their property it then turns into a state of decay and nobody wins with that. It’s absolutely assanign to me to tell a landlord “you can’t raise rent” even though everything it takes to maintain the property is super inflated

This is your government not clearly understanding the unintended consequences of a decision they make.

National rent controls from Democrats are predictable as the sunrise. That’s why its inexplicable to me how passive and weak business organizations like the NAHB and US Chamber of Commerce are on true free-market principles.

Biden has no idea how business works. No idea how supply and demand works.
