Accreditation Manager @ Oklahoma Department of Career and Technology Education | Educator, Cancer Survivor, Avid Learner
Advanced CTE has recently drafted a modernized version of the National Career Clusters, but there's a significant oversight: a Family and Consumer Sciences (FCS) cluster has been left out once again. FCS plays a critical role in shaping well-rounded individuals equipped with essential life skills. It covers vital areas such as nutrition, financial literacy, child development, and interpersonal skills—core competencies that are crucial for personal and professional success. By excluding FCS, we're missing an opportunity to provide students with comprehensive education that prepares them for various life challenges. Fill out the survey below and urge Advanced CTE to include Family and Consumer Sciences in the National Career Clusters!
After a year of discussion, a draft of a modernized National Career Clusters® Framework is available from Advance CTE for public input! Watch their intro video to learn more about the proposed Framework and then respond to the National Validation Survey: https://lnkd.in/enkTucVA

“The Great Opportunities in Technology and Engineering Careers (GO TEC Virginia) program will stimulate job growth within the Commonwealth by creating dependable talent pipelines in strategic sectors, fostered through public and private partnerships.” That’s GO TEC’s mission statement, which underscores the fact that the program, at its core, is about economic development, job growth and preparing students for quality local employment opportunities. But, the program is also an effective recruiting tool for new companies. Regional economic developers show the GO TEC program to prospective companies. Sometimes, they visit the GO TEC Training Lab at IALR; in many cases, however, they go to one of the middle schools, allowing prospects to speak with students and see the program in action. “The effectiveness of the GO TEC program – and how it funnels directly into a variety of other strong, proven workforce training programs – is a primary selling point for Southern Virginia.” — Linda Green, Vice President of Economic Development, IALR; Executive Director, Southern Virginia Regional Alliance More about the GO TEC program: https://ow.ly/YJxM50QhV65

Former Netflix creative helping brands turn cold audiences into cult-followers. 🎥🔥 We are your brand's turnkey video marketing agency | Real-UGC | Impact Storytelling
My absolute favorite videos to make are the ones that market life change for an audience. Both small and big life changes. The brands / organizations that are focused on life change of their customer, client, end-user will always win over the ones focused on simply turning a dollar. When I look back on all of the clients who’ve asked Fire Tribe to help with video content or a campaign - the ones that were the most successful were about marketing products that kept their audience’s life change central to the story. What should this data indicate for you? We humans are emotionally selfish first. We invest our time and money into things that will help us change our life for the better. It doesn’t matter if you’re a college marketing programs with obvious life change or you sell a super niche industry invention where end user life change isn’t obvious: Position your viewer as the protagonist of your brand’s story and you will see gains in your KPI’s. Message for life change (big or small, the more obvious the transformation the better) and you increase your “insurance coverage” that your marketing campaign will be successful. A college education is essential to advance your career, no matter the level you're at or how old you are. Meet Mike Neuman, the lifelong learner. How many college students do you know who worked for Howard Hughes? That job at Hughes Aircraft (and later Boeing) encouraged Mike to take classes at the University of Southern California, which he did — starting in 1973! Read more about Mike, who's now a USC Viterbi School of Engineering PhD candidate in wireless communications. https://lnkd.in/gdNTPRRc
