Welcome to Lights, Camera, Action for Change, a powerful event that aims to bring awareness to abuse in the entertainment industry. Our goal is to educate and empower those seeking careers in entertainment, providing them with practical tools and resources to avoid the common pitfalls of the industry. Our recent event explored how the entertainment industry can be used as a funnel into the seedy world of human trafficking, and through powerful conversations with industry veterans and leaders alike, we gained insights into how we can prevent this from happening. Check out this recap video for a glimpse into the extraordinary event and watch the full video on YouTube @SabineDieme. Learn more at sabinedieme.com.

Isabella Deshon knew she loved movies from the moment her dad took her to the theater. However, she didn't know she was passionate about making them until high school. Since then, she has pursued this passion, which led her to our Bachelor in Communication and Digital Media. During her time at IE University, Isabella has explored her creativity through the IE Theater Club, and the IE Short Film Festival, where students can showcase their skills in a relaxed environment. Learn more about her artistic pursuits in the following episode of "In Their Shoes," or in this article.

Less than a week until kids in Queensland head back to school! And with the continuing cost-of-living crisis, I guess people are thinking about the cost of technology in our classrooms, which led Australian Broadcasting Corporation (ABC) Radio Brisbane to give me a call yesterday to chat about it. ;) Have a listen to the interview I did with Kat Feeney on ABC 612 Brisbane below where we discussed whether computers in schools are worth it given their cost. And given my nom de plume is 'Professor Tech', you probably know where I landed on this one, and I even managed to sneak in the term 'Pedagogy before Technology' once or twice! Although as often, it feels like an uphill battle, people often think the easiest approach is to take these devices out of classrooms and go for the 'old fashioned' approach. The link below is to the whole show, but it just so happens we were the first topic, so if you listen from the beginning you'll soon hear me (I'm about 10 minutes in). Did I do ProfTech justice? Interested in your thoughts. :)
