It's truly disheartening to see the recent actions taken by the House to tack on culture war amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA). The House Armed Services Committee dedicated significant time and effort to address crucial quality of life issues affecting our servicemembers. They listened to senior enlisted leaders from each service, aiming to improve the lives of those who defend our nation. Instead of respecting this bipartisan effort, some House members chose to derail the measure with amendments that have nothing to do with national security. These amendments, which aim to deny medical care and dismantle offices dedicated to fighting discrimination, are a slap in the face to those who have put their lives on the line for this country. Military service has always been a pathway for marginalized and disadvantaged communities to prove themselves and earn their way into the middle class. Now, Republicans are working to shut these doors of opportunity, hurting those who serve our nation with honor and courage. It doesn't matter if you agree with someone's lifestyle. If they've served in the military, they've earned the right to live their life as they see fit. It's disgraceful that politicians are using the NDAA to push a divisive agenda that undermines the very people who make our freedoms possible. These servicemembers deserve our respect, our support, and the resources they need to thrive. They should not be pawns in a political game. As a country, we stand for liberty, justice, and the pursuit of happiness. It’s appalling to see political points scored at the expense of servicemembers, veterans, and military families. This behavior is not only shameful but a betrayal of our national values.

This is important to Veterans, as a Veteran I get sub par services and everything is a fight. When you add these services, your making it an open clinic, have you been to the VA, most are older people, mostly men, but women as well, and they don’t care about these woke policies, they just want to be heard. Yet they don’t increase spending to get quality doctors. The VA still needs to be overhauled but not to incorporate a WH agenda, provide the necessary service and treat Veterans with the respect and dignity they deserve. 6 woke Biden policies at Veterans Affairs that Republicans are moving to dismantle https://lnkd.in/gM-ZQGM9 Explore the Fox News apps that are right for you at https://lnkd.in/d4JDzrY.

The recent discussion on the inclusion of women in the military draft raises a pivotal question for territories like Puerto Rico and others. These territories, which cannot vote in Congress or presidential elections, face a unique dilemma. If our voices are not represented in the highest levels of decision-making, should we be subject to the same mandatory registration requirements? This question becomes even more critical when considering the inclusion of our women. As we strive for equality and representation, it's essential to address this disparity. Our service members, regardless of gender, deserve a voice in the legislative process that mandates their service. Read more on this topic: https://lnkd.in/eBJAVWDk

Require women to be drafted? A great example of how multiple policy failures come together for a "Say, what???" event, in this case a Senate (Dem-led) Armed Forces Committee proposal to include women in the draft. Here's why 2024 is the wake-up year for both employers and the military. US fertility and birth rates dropped like a rock in 2008 (recession), never recovered, and are now the lowest in US history. That was 16 years ago, making 2024 the first year the military and employers finally have to face the reality of as many as 11 million delayed or missing births since 2008* with no improvement in sight. Combine that with a lousy economy in the two childbearing demographics (Millennials and older Gen Z), in every study for over a century known to be the root cause of faltering birth rates. Simple Maslow's hierarchy: if you can't afford a home, you sure don't start/build a family. Add in the US consistently ranking in the bottom 5 of 40 OECD nations in economic support for pregnancy and young families. More vectors: an unemployment rate <4%, lack of any rational policy on either side of the aisle on immigration (which historically backfilled US births), and a higher percent of ineligible or uninterested military candidates--and here we are. There are other real military and country identity factors as well. The UK has the same issue and is also looking at how to deal with it with some interesting tweaks. Here in the US, four months before an election, it's yet another scream-but-definitely-don't-really-discuss wedge issue, although Schumer shows no interest in bringing it to the floor. No surprise there. BTW, this is also a key reason why we're suddenly hearing so much about the glories of being a baby-producing tradwife (until his midlife crisis requires younger, sexier arm candy, leaving the original 40+ or 50 YO appetizer model divorced and with no job experience). And it's absolutely linked to abortion and now contraception politics, the latter already bubbling up in a state near you. Then throw in gender war dog whistles, like a story this week from The Federalist entitled "If they want to vote, women should be subject to the draft." ANYthing but actual policy. *based on 2007 fertility rate #military #militaryrecruitment #birthrate #fertility #births #pregnancy #immigration #election #economy #demographics #recruitment #employers #employee #generations #genz #millennials #OECD #abortion #birthcontrol #tradwife #genderwars
