PRECAST FOCUS: VIBRATION CONTROL WITH PRECAST CONCRETE STRUCTURES - Precast, prestressed concrete structures, because of their stiffness and massive concrete floors, provide significantly better vibration control and damping characteristics compared to conventional wood or steel construction. Vibrations caused by walking or other activities are seldom a problem in a precast concrete floor system because of the system’s inherent mass and stiffness. Do you need to make construction on your next project incredibly simple but still deliver a high quality build? With an insulated solid wall construction method like ICF, the walls are usually built in stages - typically to first floor height at the first pass. The ICF blocks stack and connect through a raised profile on the surface which removes the need for mortar. Concrete is then poured into a hollow, central cavity. Once the concrete has set the next course can be installed with the process continuing until full building height is achieved. The simplicity of the build means a watertight shell can be achieved much quicker than traditional construction methods! #ICF #ICFA #SpeedOfBuild https://lnkd.in/eUcgMWeu

Ready-mix can be used as an alternative to steel framing for mid-and high-rise structures. Buildings with structural concrete frames are inherently quieter, stronger, safer, more energy-efficient, and less expensive to maintain than buildings constructed with steel. Post-tensioning systems play a crucial role in construction, enhancing concrete's structural capacity. These systems utilize steel tendons along with essential components like tendons, ducts, anchorage, and grout. There are two main types: Bonded Post-Tensioning, which boosts strength through bonding, and Unbonded Post-Tensioning, which limits bonding except at anchor points. The benefits include improved strength, reduced cracking, flexibility in design, and cost-effectiveness. Widely utilized in structures such as bridges, buildings, parking facilities, water tanks, and stadiums. #Construction #Engineering #Infrastructure
