Since United for Global Mental Health was launched, the American Friends of UnitedGMH has supported its work. Today the outgoing Chair of American Friends of United for Global Mental Health - Gabrielle Fitzgerald - and I share some reflections on mental health today. Dedicated campaigning has placed mental health on the global agenda, leading to significant policy milestones like UN and WHO resolutions. Countries are updating their mental health laws and decriminalising suicide, with UnitedGMH supporting these efforts in places like Pakistan and Ghana. International donors are closing a $200 billion investment gap, integrating mental health into their strategies, while innovative solutions and youth-led initiatives are driving change and support worldwide. I encourage you to read about these inspiring milestones and join us in celebrating the remarkable strides we've made as a mental health community. Working as a global team we all remain committed to achieving the vision of a world where everyone, everywhere, has access to mental health support, free of stigma or restrictions. @PanoramaGlobal #MentalHealthAwareness #MentalHealthMatters

Good quality mental health support is in desperate need with easy access and sustainable services.
This is a big day for us. 15,000 of you signed our open letter asking the chancellor Jeremy Hunt to invest in a national roll out of early mental health support hubs. Today our Activists and Dr Alex George hand delivered the letter to Downing Street. It's time for your voices to be heard. It's time for the Government to #FundTheHubs and help end the emergency in young people's mental health. Every young person should be able to get the support they need, when they need it, no matter what.

🚨 Exciting News! 🚨 The UK government is modernising the Mental Health Act to give patients more choice and rights, ensuring mental health has equal parity to physical health. Key changes include revised detention criteria, quicker reviews, and more patient empowerment. 🏥💪 Plus, better care pathways for those with learning disabilities and autism. 🌟 A huge step forward for mental health care! 🧠✨ Let's celebrate this change together! 🎉 However, we are still asking for further funding to ensure these changes can be implemented properly. 💙 #MentalHealthReform #OxfordshireMind
