My legal training prepared me well for managing the volume of executive orders to read since Monday. It did not - in fact, could not have prepared me for confronting the level of ignorance and cruelty with which many of these deeply unconstitutional, illegal, and abjectly self-interested and wasteful diatribes were written. That's a survival skill I've had to develop along with approximately half the country. But here we are, 2025. Here we are. Civil society is under assault.
