What does Australia do with illegal immigrants, who have committed serious offences, who cannot be sent back to their own country? After the High court found indefinite incarceration to be unconstitutional, almost all of the 59 Iranian and 29 Sudanese nationals, many of the 35 Sri Lankans, 27 Chinese and 24 Iraqis currently in immigration detention ……could launch legal bids for their release……. …… and warnings that these non-citizens could claim hundreds of thousands of dollars in damages for time spent behind bars. The cohort I refer to includes: 72 convicted for assault and violent offending, kidnapping, armed robbery 37 for sexually based offending, including child sex offending 16 for domestic violence and stalking 13 for serious drug offending 7 for murder and attempted murder 5 for people smuggling, crimes of 'serious international concern' What should Australia do?

Joint investigation code-named MIRAGE was initiated in 2022, concerning an organized crime group (OCG) formed by Moldovan and Romanian nationals involved in criminal scheme of trafficking of migrants. It was revealed that from 2019 until now, the OCG smuggled over 100 migrants to the Schengen Area. After exchanging information within operational meetings organized under umbrella of SELEC and with the support of Eurojust, the Romanian and Moldovan authorities set up a joint investigation team (JIT) to expose the OCG. The suspects included over 20 Romanian and Moldovan citizens organized in a criminal structure on hierarchical levels, acting on the territories of Romania and the Republic of Moldova with the aim of committing the crime of migrant trafficking. During the action days that took place on 16 May in Republic of Moldova and on 27 May 2024 in Romania, the law enforcement authorities were able to conduct 18 house searches, both on the territory of Republic of Moldova and Romania, and perform multiple interrogations of suspects, followed by the arrest of four drivers and their leader. It was found out that members of the criminal group purchased large-capacity vehicles to transport people originating from Afro-Asian countries across state borders to Western European countries. The investigations carried out revealed that the suspects claimed and received for each migrant amounts ranging between 3,000 - 5,000 euros, depending on the financial possibilities of the transported person and the country where the person intended to arrive. The routes followed by the members of the organized crime group to transport the migrants in Western European countries were: Greece – Bulgaria – Romania – Hungary – Austria, Greece – Bulgaria – Serbia or Croatia – Hungary – Austria. Illegal immigrants are crossing the US border in thosands and tens of thousands via some weird "holes" in the border. Especially the Southern border somewhere in California near SD. Now in the news the reports are appearing about illegal immigrants in the US commiting rapes and murders and thefts like every day. Particularly in New York. The problem with excessive kindness towards border insecurity is the following: usually law abiding citizens are willing to cross the border in all sorts of legal ways, then there will be some % of illegal immigrants who are truly asylum seekers for some real reasons, and an undocumented number of illegal border crossers who are as it turns out now criminals who commited crimes in their country (like murder for example) and have fled the police. As if there was not enough rapists in the US already... Go figure how much the US government cares about their citizen's safety.

In addition to law enforcement, the report highlights the government’s commitment to protection efforts. It reported the identification of 35,309 trafficking victims, a significant increase from the 21,253 victims identified in the previous year. This figure includes 29,334 victims of sex trafficking, 3,118 victims of forced labour, and 2,857 victims of unspecified forms of trafficking. Among the total number of trafficking victims, there were 25,919 women, 6,199 men, 2,510 boys, 309 girls, and 368 children for whom gender identification was unavailable, along with four unspecified cases. The government should place a strong emphasis on improving coordination between the public and private sectors while launching awareness campaigns among the general populace.
