It also requires certain aspects of the bridge projects to be carried out by certified contractors that provide appropriate training for their employees. Tomorrow at 11am PST | 2pm EST, Zack Estes and I are hosting a webinar all about building processes in your excavation business. We’re 71 registrants in and climbing. It almost seems like this might be a topic people want to learn more about. This is made for dirt contractors doing between $1M-$20M and are trying to get out of having their business hinge on them every minute of every day. I have an inch-deep knowledge in this area, so I brought in a real live process engineer to teach us. When we put this together, I told Zack, “your job is to make this the most valuable hour of their week.” If you’ve ever felt like there simply has to be a better way to get this work done, you’ve felt the pain of the missing process. Sign up and get my very professional and slightly ironic Google Meet invite at the link in the comments. If you can’t make it at 11am PST tomorrow, sign up anyway and I’ll send out the call recording afterward.

The latest acronym for a "dispute avoidance" process is the CAB (Conflict Avoidance Board). Add this to DAB, DAAB, DRB as yet another process (not dissimilar to the others) recommended for prevention of disputes on, particularly, construction project contracts. CAB was initiated by the SIMC (Singapore International Mediation Centre) in August of this year. The adoption of a Standing Conflict Avoidance Board is appropriate for use on construction and engineering projects. The process is strongly influenced by the standing dispute board procedure in the FIDIC form of contract. As they say, copying another person's idea is the best form of flattery (and a sound acknowledgement and endorsement of the benefits of a process)

2moI truly believe this is the future of our industry. Companies all over the country will be left behind because they refused to formally train future demolition professionals. Developers and GCs everywhere will not only demand it, but require it. Kudos to the NDA! Setting the standard.
