1️⃣ ❓🧐 ⏰ ‼️ (One Question Quiz Time) NY Senator Chuck Schumer has joined with other Democrats in pushing for the removal of Israeli PM Netanyahu, for his stated desire to enter Rafah and defeat Hamas once and for all. The vast majority of Israelis support the defeat of Hamas, after Hamas’ 10/7 pogrom that savagely murdered over 1,200 Israelis and foreign nationals. What conclusion do you draw from this? A) We are throwing the only democracy in the Middle East under the bus. Our administration believes that doing this will lead to 15 electoral votes from Michigan, which it believes are indispensable to winning re-election. B) The Biden administration is very focused on changing democratically elected Israeli leadership, and not at all focused on cultivating new Palestinian leadership. C) Schumer half-heartedly opposed Obama’s disastrous Iran deal, placing party loyalty above the best interests of the safety of the only democracy in the Middle East. This is now a pattern for the NY Senator. D) It’s a kinder, gentler push for regime change than what the US has done in places like Hawaii or Guatemala. https://lnkd.in/eFaFhs7C E) Every ally of the US that looks to the US for support is calculating a plan B. F) Every enemy of the US (Iran, China, North Korea, Russia) is celebrating American undependability. G) All of the above

Are the states of the European Union really democratic? By literal translation democracy means "[state] commanded by the people". Everyone knows that the overwhelming majority of citizens of EU states are against sending offensive heavy weapons to Ukraine and that almost all of them are absolutely opposed to sending troops. Yet the EU states have been funding the war for two years, without ever consulting their respective populations, and even the political leaders of some states are planning to send soldiers to the front. Moreover, the President of the European Commission herself calls on states to convert the economies of EU states into economies of war and to produce more weapons. But no European people has given this mandate to their governments and, least of all, to the EU Commission. One can think as one likes about the Russia-Ukraine conflict, but it is certain that these decisions are not democratic. Maybe they are NATO-cratic?
Democracy is the rule of the people, by the people, for the people - Abraham Lincoln Two weeks ago I had the honor to interview Christine Anderson from AfD. we should be grateful as she is one of the rare politicians in Brussels actually serving the interest of the EU’s citizen’s 💫 Riks

High time we in the US use our power, act on our rights, as citizens of our democracy and of the people of our world. We must now be participative citizenry. RIGHT NOW. This is why these MAGATS are holding back funding for Ukraine: Putler’s useful idiots include TFG, the Republican Congress, Tuckie Carlson, and the supposedly 33% of US voters polled that don’t want Ukraine getting aid. Putler et al want to win and steal Ukraine to complete their genocide of Ukrainian people and culture, then move onto Moldova & the Baltic countries, to split and take out all democracies. MEANWHILE, in the US, we are in the midst of an ongoing coups with the objective of taking out our constitution and our democracy, as evidenced by the Supreme Court’s decision yesterday to stay the prosecution’s case against TFG while they dare to even attempt to consider allowing him or any elected person full immunity. WE, THE PEOPLE, ARE THE ONLY RESPONSIBLE ONES THAT HAVE THE POWER, WILL, & AUTHORITY TO SEE THIS FUNDING GETS TO UKRAINE, TFG ET AL IS/ARE PROSECUTED AND IMPRISONED, SEE THAT OUR COUNTRY CONTINUES TO FORM A BETTER UNION, KEEPING OUR COUNTRY’s CONSTITUTION AND DEMOCRACY WHERE ALL THE DIFFERENCES WE HAVE CAN BE OPENLY PROTESTED, ARGUED OUT, AND WHERE WE ALL MAKE A BETTER UNITED STATES AND WORLD. Press our government - hard, every day, demand funding to Ukraine, that SCOTUS be held accountable, adding three more justices to the court, demand no more funds to Netanyahu, divert those funds to help the Palestinian people and to end the war in Palestine. We have a lot of work to do. We must keep our eyes on the big picture. We don’t have the privilege of any ‘uncommitted’ votes. Any vote not blue votes out our democracy & constitution. It also means we won’t be able to assist any other nation Ms or peoples, even the right of voicing our opposition will be at risk. We DO have the privilege & power to press our governments hard to DEMAND they do as we demand. RIGHT NOW & EVERY DAY. That is what comprises a true democracy: an engaged, informed, active, & participating citizenry. VOTE BLUE UP & DOWN BALLOT. 🇺🇸✊🏽🌎💙✊🏽 We can do this. We must.

The Beltway press likes to fret about the fate of U.S. democracy, invariably because of Republicans. But now a real democratic test is arriving: support for Israel and Ukraine. Can Washington’s factions rise above their parochial interests and compromise to help two U.S. friends fighting for their national survival? #asia #C&EExecutiveNewsFilter #central #Central/EasternEurope #commentaries #Commentaries/Opinions #ContentTypes #DevelopingEconomies #DomesticPolitics #easterneurope #europe #FactivaFilters #generalnews #GOP #InternationalRelations #Israel #MediterraneanCountries #MiddleEast #MikeJohnson #northamerica #opinions #political #Political/GeneralNews #politics #Politics/InternationalRelations #SYND #Ukraine #unitedstates #WestAsia #WSJPROWSJcom

This is the best read on the current environment.
From this morning....a Politics / Commentary by Kevin Roberts, Ph.D., president of The Heritage Foundation. It is entitled ..."GOP Establishment’s Days Are Numbered" So here you go, the GOP will be getting the message. on to it... ...."The Republican establishment doesn’t know it yet, but last weekend was a watershed moment for their party. On April 20, House Republican leadership facilitated passage of a foreign-aid package that sends roughly $60 billion to Ukraine, $26 billion to Israel and Gaza, $8 billion to Taiwan, and exactly zero dollars to the southern border. The bill has since passed the Democrat-led Senate and was signed by President Joe Biden. The vote will be remembered for the choice Republican leadership made to brazenly reject its own voters in favor of the “uniparty” in Washington, D.C...." The War raises more fundamental questions. If nobody can be held to account for murder provided it is on a large scale or by current rulers, what constraints are there on fears of exclusion and the politics of spoils and expropriation? Why does Nigerian politics break down into political violence?
