If I could go back and tell little baby Management Trainee Avery what her career at Cintas would look like over the next 4.5 years, she wouldn't believe the following experiences: 🔷 The fear in your eyes during this picture because you're about to move into your Service rotation will inevitably prepare you to recruit the next generation of Route Service Sales Representatives (and Key Account Managers and Service Managers and Management Trainees and so on...) 🔷 You will go on to graduate from the Management Trainee program early because of managers and directors like Lynn McKenzie and Micah Holden. It's Friday. We're all nearly ready to go home, I'll be having a bottle of wine (*cough* several) and relax with family. I know I can come back on Monday to a secure career and the Carabao Cup in the trophy cabinet. But that's not everyone. No I don't mean Everton fans. I mean those who don't have a job. People desperate for an opportunity. Going into a weekend after another week of fruitless searching. There are so many companies out there with the power to change lives. What is relatively small to some businesses is huge to an individual. It gives them a sense of self worth, a sense of pride and an opportunity to grow and learn. It is so frustrating seeing the energy of candidates ebb away week by week. With all that being said I really want to shout about Alex Woodward and her fellow candidate Pharrell. They are just two of several people we are trying to support at Inspire, Train, Grow CIC alongside trying to get employers to commit to our Social Value Recruitment Charter (please ask us about it). I have completed Red Bull On-Premise Sales virtual experience program on forage * Completed a job simulation focused on On-Premise Sales activities at Red Bull * Used Excel to visualize which on-premise clients are performing best and worst. * Communicated observations to Red Bull team members about why certain clients are performing better than others. * Utilized active listening and social proof to overcome a client’s objections resulting in them more prominently featuring Red Bull in their bar. #redbull #continueslearning #forage #cma #internships #traning #forage

June’s “STRI Lights” live presentation featured Bruce Delaporte, the PEO STRI Director of Talent Management to discuss the talent management team’s strategic plans. During the 45-minute program, he said that his team has been focused on their task to “Invest In Our People,” which has been the driver of everything from recruitment, to training and development and professional mentoring. Delaporte outlined the differences between training and development. “Training is aimed at improving an employee’s current job performance. It focuses on acquiring specific skills or knowledge needed for immediate job tasks,” he said. “Development is more holistic, aiming to grow an individual’s overall career progression.” STRI Lights host Ariana Aubuchon asked Delaporte what “SRIOP” is. He said, “STRIOP, or the PEO STRI Orientation Program is an extension of the overall A3P program that has now been executed 3 times over the last couple of years.” The A3P Program stands for Acquisition Academy Apprentice Program, which is a recruitment, internship and comprehensive training program designed to mentor civilians to success in working with the United States Army. Commanders should make educated decisions on SkillBridge for their team And balance the following: 1 - Requirements of the mission What do we have during that timeframe? How are we going to use them? Can this be done by others with no serious risk to unit/mission? 2 - Needs of the service member Are they "at risk" upon transition? Did they put in the effort to prepare? (reward effort) What is the impact of saying "no?" 3 - Results of specific SkillBridge (or CSP) Opportunity What are they going to be doing during the internship/training? Is there strong potential for employment at the end? Does the company have headcount (a job) set up for the role? What is the expected salary for someone that gets that job? (living wage) P.S. If I was a Commander, I'd also ask transition services/CSP coordinators for a historic look at "approvals/disapprovals" for internships in my organization And make sure it isn't only retiring senior enlisted or officers #quinnsights HireMilitary BTW - service members should come prepared with the answers to these 👆 questions when requesting to participate in SkillBridge/CSP And make the request early so you can potentially address concerns Historically no more than about 10% of the transitioning force will ever be able to participate in SkillBridge And recruiting/manning woes are going to make it harder for Commanders to approve them Because our enemies are still out there Our military needs to stand trained & ready to defend our Nation And you signed a contract for X years of service Not 3-4 months less Got it?
