Creating a consistent look with lens choices. Lifestyle candid from a recent careers shoot for Twice Daily and White Bison. Before a shoot, I usually think about which lenses I want to use based on the needs of the project and try and get it locked in on the first setup. If it needs to feel pretty, and may need extremely shallow depth of field, I'll use fast prime lenses over zooms. And this is the important part. I'll try and use those same lenses throughout the shoot as much as possible. Lenses have their own personalities. Good and bad. But using them consistently helps give a consistent look across all the shots. This was shot using a 35mm f/1.4 at f/7.1. Even stopped down, it has a creamy, pretty feel and we alternated between this and an 85 f/1.2 throughout the shoot. #advertisingphotography #locationphotography #lifestylephotography
