Did you catch that springtime total solar eclipse? If not, you’ll have to wait another 20 years for the next one visible from the contiguous United States. In the meantime, physicist, inventor and #NatGeoExplorerVed Chirayath captured this image of the moon passing over the sun in Goldthwaite, Texas, this past April. The moon appeared to tuck neatly over the sun resulting in 100% totality in many parts of North America — from Mexico to Maine.

Neutrinos hold a pivotal role in understanding the universe due to their unique properties and interactions. As nearly massless particles that travel at near light speeds, neutrinos are fundamental to unlocking mysteries of the universe's formation and behavior. The Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment (DUNE) aims to study these elusive particles to potentially explain why the universe is made of matter, highlighting their significance in the broader context of particle physics and cosmology.
Principal Advisor continuing to support ongoing U.S. efforts to enhance global peace, with a particular focus on issues related to strategic stability, arms control, and countering proliferation.
DUNE, the Deep Underground Neutrino Experiment, is a giant trap for the elusive neutrino, a tiny particle that could explain why the universe is made of matter.
A mile beneath the surface of South Dakota, the largest international science project ever conducted in the U.S. is under construction. ✨
Hot off the press: from a collaboration involving the UK, Finland and the US connecting cosmology, quantum field theory and quantum fluids: ``A-B Transition in Superfluid 3He and Cosmological Phase Transitions''. The goal of the UK-based QUEST-DMC collaboration is to identify and quantify the mechanism(s) responsible for nucleation of stable phases in ultra-pure metastable quantum phases, and by extension quantum fields describing the early universe, which we expect will inform plans for the search of gravitational wave (GW) production in early universe cosmological models. The Big Bang theory remains today as the dominant paradigm in physical cosmology. It can explain why the universe is expanding. It can explain the existence of ancient relic radiation. And it can explain the composition and arrangement of matter throughout the cosmos.
Except lithium.

What do you know about the art of Chornobyl? How do you imagine that catastrophe? One of my main research topics is the Image of the Chornobyl catastrophe in Ukrainian art. I chose five artworks about Chornobyl for a project "5 minutes for Ukrainian art" with Artslooker. Expect no clichés, though: instead of abandoned toys, the Prypiat city sign, and the Chornobyl Nuclear Power Plant itself, we’ll talk about the profound impact of the disaster on Ukrainian art – postmodern, religious, motherhood, lost paradise, and heroism.

Did you know that gold exists on our earth bound star known as the Sun?
The Sun is the star at the center of the Solar System.
It is a massive, nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma, heated to incandescence by nuclear fusion reactions in its core, radiating the energy from its surface mainly as visible light and infrared radiation with 10% at ultraviolet energies.
It is by far the most important source of energy for life on Earth. The Sun has been an object of veneration in many cultures. It has been a central subject for astronomical research since antiquity.
High powered telescopes have been used to detect the presence of gold on the sun.
Eventually, scientists calculated that the Sun contains almost 2.5 trillion tons of gold, enough to fill Earth's oceans and more.
Still, that's just eight atoms of gold for every trillion atoms of hydrogen — a tiny amount when compared to the mass of the Sun.
But how did gold come to be in the Sun and Earth?
Extracting Gold from the Sun is an almost insurmountable feat for obvious temperature related reasons.
Scientists believe all the gold on Earth formed in supernovae and neutron star collisions that occurred before the solar system formed.
In these events, gold formed during the r-process.
God created the Sun to perfectly sustain life on this planet and its not an accident.
The Holy Bible says that God created two great lights: one to rule the day (The Sun) and another (The Moon) to rule the night.
No known life has been identified on any other planet.
What does that tell you?
Evolution of a Local Universe:
The energy charge of a local universe is approximately one one-hundred-thousandth of the force endowment of its superuniverse. In the case of Nebadon, your local universe, the mass materialization is a trifle less.Physically speaking, Nebadon possesses all the physical endowment of energy and matter that may be found in any of the Orvonton local creations. The only physical limitations upon the developmental expansion of the Nebadon universe consists in the quantative charge of space-energy held captive by the gravity control of the associated powers of personalities of the combined universe mechanism.

A black hole is a region in space where gravity is so intense that nothing, not even light, can escape. They are formed when massive stars exhaust their nuclear fuel and collapse under their own gravity, creating a singularity—a point of infinite density. The boundary surrounding a black hole is called the event horizon, beyond which no information can escape.
Fastest Degeneration Method
The fastest degeneration method of a black hole is through Hawking radiation, a theoretical prediction by Stephen Hawking. This process involves the emission of radiation due to quantum effects near the event horizon, causing the black hole to lose mass over time. As it emits this radiation, the black hole gradually shrinks and can eventually evaporate completely, depending on its mass. This degeneration is slow for large black holes but becomes significant for smaller ones, leading to their eventual disappearance.

This is a new exciting publication in Nature (https://lnkd.in/ejcVAm_R) led by Merav Opher, the SHIELD DRIVE Center Director, emphasizes the importance of understanding how the heliosphere, the solar systems protective bubble, can be affected by the properties of the interstellar medium. In particular, the work explores the possibility that in the past (about 2 to 3 million years ago) the heliosphere was compressed to inside the Earth’s orbit so that the Earth is completely exposed to the interstellar environment. This would expose the Earth to an increasing amount of cosmic rays and hydrogen which could impact the climate and expose life on Earth to more radiation. You can see Prof. Opher discuss this at https://lnkd.in/eUiBFeQN
